Story behind your username

(BerylRdm) #61

Long, long time ago (in 2004) I was trying to find a nickname that would:
a) be suitable for FPS games,
b) have something in common with Poland.

Good for me, there is an arm factory in my home city, producing guns for the polish army, so I came up with this:

Since then I’m using this nick in almost every place over the internet.

I love Spaghetti Westerns. It’s my passion for life.

At first it was going to be “Stranger Danger” or “Danger Stranger” or “Dangerous Stranger”, but I went with combining these 2 words. Plus I’m a lone wolf when it comes to online games.

(HunterAssassin5) #63

i like how spaghetti was completely unrelated to how your username came to be but its there anyway.

(aminuseternal) #64

I was really drunk and wanted a new user name to use for everything.

I could come up with a long explanation, story even, about worldview of pro- equality (real one and not this SJW clownshow accompanied with unhumorous idiots) and embracing the way like teflonlove described of not following the “cool’n’intimidating” nickname teen crowd.

But instead I just found a face/body/gendershifting and -copying gay martial artist One Piece character simply unpassably hilarious for no apparent reason, grabbed their name, replaced one vowel on it to be just a tad less copycat (oh irony) and artistic reasons.

Still yet to find a forum, game, newssite, email service or you-name-it where ‘bontsa’ would be already taken. Ssooo… theres that as an added bonus.

WE HAVE ROBOTS ON MARS. WE HAVE ROBOTS ON ANOTHER PLANET.

The exploration of space, however meager it may seem compared to grandiose SF books, is one of very few things that makes me believe in our civilization. That we are going forward towards greater things.

Sure, there’ll be no immortality potion in my lifetime. Hell, I’m almost 30 and I’m getting progressively bald - even a “simple” thing as that won’t be solved in my lifetime. But there have been rovers on Mars pretty much ever since I remember. I was 11 in 1997 when Pathfinder landed. I stayed all night to watch that. I was as excited and elated when Curiosity landed. I was happy to wake up for that at 4am on a Monday.

Also - if you want a break from DB, don’t play Overwatch like seemingly half of the planet. I strongly recommend Kerbal Space Program

(BrazenXXGold) #69

So in the sixth grade i had some language arts classes like any other, and was looking for a new gamertag on Xbox.
I remembered my teacher telling us about the bronzen, iron and Gold ages so i was going for something along the lines of bronze and Gold.
But ended up misspelling and BrazenXXGold is what came of it.
Now i use it for everything. Haha nice memories
Huh, well I guess I could share the story of how I got my online nickname.

Back in like 2012, I wasn’t very into the fps genre or just steam in general. There once was a game called “Buddy Rush.” In the game, are several classes to choose from. The one which caught my attention was the class “Boorseye.” Now it’s my online persona ever since. I see quite a bit of people mispronounce it. It is pronounced as “bullseye” except instead of the l syllable, you replace it with an r syllable, hence “Boorseye” But you may ask, how did I get Boory, even more so for BooryDarthNader? Well, if you remove “see” from “Boorseye,” you get “Boory.” This is a joke for myself as I am a bad sniper(get it? no see?) Well, how about DarthNader? I had quite a bit of illiterations of my Boory nickname. Some of these are : ExplosiBoory, BooryDaHam, BooryDaEngi, BooryDemoHam, and just Boorseye. At some point, my best friend suggested Darth Nader after I had him watch n8o’s nader merc role call video. I really like the name, so I custom made my avatar, Nader with a Darth Vader chest plate, black shirt, and an empire symbol on the chest and headband.

That’s my story.

P.S. I’m pretty sure Buddy Rush servers are closed nowadays. It kinda makes me sad and hope that DB won’t be just a game I remember like Buddy Rush.
TL;DR: This sums it up.

(Boory Marks) #71

HOLY SHIT THIS IS NOT A DRILL. I REPEAT NOT A DRILL.

And they have Boorseye. I’m happy. Screw DB, I’m playing this thing. (I’m joking if you can’t tell, I swear wtf)

(HunterAssassin5) #72

@BooryDarthNader i bid thee well

(knightenchanter) #73

i’m a huge fan of the dragon age games and the knight enchanter specialization for mages was nearly a dream come true. the name didn’t really stick much at first until i decided to write my thesis with dragon age as the focus. after 3000+ hours of playing the entire series, well, i’m super fond of it now.

(gseijn) #74

I hit a bunch of random keys and it looked something like “gseijndsjfhsajgathhsf” so I shortened it and it was “gseijn”. To me it looked like a different way of spelling “sign” so that’s how I pronounce it.
