Gotta admit, these events have burnt me out. I’d be happy to not see another DB event for a while.
By the end of the Hexad event I admit I was just joining servers that were “Match Ending Soon” status so that I wouldn’t have to play as long to get cases and to try and make the most out of the boosters I did have (about 6 or 7 percent only)
People who say you have to play a FULL match of Obj/SW to get a case are wrong. I’ve literally joined a server, got there just in time for the end match stats and gotten a case, along with my first win and first play bonuses.
I then left that game, and joined another game nearing the end. Rinse and repeat until you get your worthless Hexad card with a loadout you will never use so you can feel like you were at least around for that event and got something from it.
I’d be happy playing normally for fun rather than having to try and grind for things I feel like I need to have, but are ultimately disappointing anyway. These events make me FEEL like I need to get these cards since they are limited time, but all it does is burns me out from playing the game.
You need to be able to end an event with at least a good chance of getting a card you like, otherwise its pointless.
Changing all case drops to be special event cases is fine, even with its 1% chance, however on top of that you need to be able to more reliably receive these cards. Lets say you can buy “Tokens” with whatever the event currency is. You then spend these tokens to buy more specific cases for mercs and loadouts you might actually want.
The more tokens you trade in, the higher the chance of getting the exact loadout you want.
5 tokens = 1 case for a merc of your choosing.
15 tokens = 1 case for a merc of your choosing + pick a primary weapon (narrows RNG).
30 tokens = 1 case for a merc of your choosing + pick a primary and secondary weapon (narrows RNG even more).
50 tokens = 1 case for a merc of your choosing + the exact loadout you want. (no RNG)
I feel like the event would actually be worth playing this way, and I’d probably play a lot more being satisfied that I actually ended up with something I liked.
To skip the grind, people could spend real money on Tokens to make the cards they want faster. Everyones a winner.
