Objective based, class based gameplay - when you dig deeper, this component actually failed but for now its a like.
Premise - As already stated the back story, was pretty interesting.
Challenges - I probably thought this part of the game was superior to everything else. It taught players “some” of the basic concepts of the ET model.

Nut sack holding - the ET model allows for individual play to shine within the greater scope of team. Meaning that a rambo medic who destroys everyone, is being a rambo for the benefit of having a number advantage at the objective. Brink does not really allow for this, so your probability of winning is predicated on whether or not you can hold everyones balls by spamming the F button. Since this is something that everyone can do - this cancels out. It ONLY has an influence if your team opts not to.
Mingleplayer - One of the biggest failures of the game imo. Either you offer the SP only types, a traditional SP game or you only offer MP. Adding bots with cutscenes on MP maps simply doesnt cut it. And this is coming from someone who ONLY plays MP.
SMART - A glorified jump pad system, where the map hides the jump pads. Now I actually dont mind the fact players need to find the routes themselves. Thats a positive. But the gunplay renders these routes useless.
It really doesnt matter whether you can get to the objective, 3.239849242 seconds faster. Since the game is predicated on F spamming, you have to wait for everyone else anyway.
