Stop The "Hate" and Lets Even Things Out...

I Haven’t bothered saying much if at all in all these recent threads which have been bringing out the worst side of everyone for the most part. Tired of it and it makes it immpossible for anything good to come out of it. Everyone is at fault and no one is solely in the right, just a lot of egos, hypocrits and loud mouths who can’t play nice with each other.

Well here is a way for a possible solution and perhaps a chance for everyone to see both sides and not just argue and bash each other. To makes things balanced and more reasonable I request that everyone list or describe certain things they like/disslike about BRINK (and only Brink). Here is the catcher though and I PLEAD with you all that you follow this guideline: For everything you list or describe good or bad have another response prepared for the opposite. 1 good and 1 bad or the other way around.

I feel if we arent piling on and instead sharing experiances from both sides with each arguement/point being made maybe we will be more willing to hear each other out and possibly respect each others views a bit more then many do currently. Lets try to get all sides on the same page or atleast the same book. If you are a reasonable person this will show it, those who refuse to participate or cant follow the rules will be shown and known to all. Lets keeps it honest and argue for both sides and not just one, we all claim to say we also like/disslike things and here is your chance to prove it.

Keep is constructive and please no personal attacks even those vague in nature. No hiding your dickheadness behind the guise of civility. And remember if you want to throw in your two cents you MUST do it for both sides and lets try to not repeat the same points over and over, try to atleast attempt to being something new to the table.

Actually, it isn’t hate a lot now. The ‘skill’ thread is a little more constructive now.

Anyways, we should do a Brink tourney! XD

If I get this right, it’s like / dislike? I’ll avoid the PC platform and focus on PS3.

Well then could you please elaborate both sides a bit more. It very much comes off as if you were grasping at straws to name thigns you liked just so you could get out your more thought out reasons for disslikes. You named many basic game features as likes and then went on to say parts of those features were things you didn’t like.

Example, its almost as if you are saying something like: Guns (I like how you can shoot guns) - I don’t like the gunplay.

One is a basic game feature and the other is something actually unique to the game that you do not like.

Not being a dick like Verticae wants me to be but really would like this to be taken somewhat seriously so we can get to the core of the problems and possibly have some common ground on which to stand rather then just I am right and you are wrong.

I will go on and give a little detail on one or two of them but not before pointing out that your knee jerk reaction is nothing short of hypocritical. I did exactly what you asked and you proceed to call me out as ‘grasping at straws’ to get more out on the stuff I don’t like. If you hadn’t noticed, there’s perfect symmetry in what I posted; one positive for every negative. Not a positive then massive paragraph on something I don’t like. Don’t want the negatives, don’t ask for them…

Hip Firing / Spread

I like the fact the game doesn’t have to rely on iron sights and you can shoot from the hip however I still feel the spread is too large to allow a sufficient variety in skill level to emerge. The ‘dice roll’ some people talk about.

Style of game / Texture pop in

I like the overall stylistic design choices of Brink. From the characters to the map variety in how they look. I think the aesthetics are marred by some frankly horrible pop in.

Well I assumed things that would be listed would be opposites and not vartiation of very similar things. A small explanation isnt too much to ask for when you honestly werent being clear at all with some things and others could easily be taken out of context. But from what you have added it helps a lot with understanding exactly what you were getting at, although I personally disagree with some things to a certain point that can be discussed further down the road after some others chime in and its a common dissagreement.

It was in response to him downrepping me and calling me and ass. Way to pull the hypocrite card and then be one.

Oh and notice how i said “he comes off as” instead of “he is being”. Thats why I followed up and posted a comment asking you to elborate and explain exactly what you meant. Sorry if I jumped the gun and assumed one of you may be just showing up and responding just for the sake of spreading “your agenda” or to try and start something out of nothing.

I realize I should have been clearer but you all also have enough smarts to know what I was trying to get at and do with this thread. Sorry if I felt SOME of you may have showed up just to break my rule of being a dickhead under the guise of civility.

Like I said, you could’ve asked me about it. I went with the list because I didn’t want to write an essay on all of those (both sides of the coin). But again, that was in keeping with the ‘rules’ outlined in the OP.

Not blaming you at all… I know you posted in the manner that I described but I also feel you purposely short sided your likes in contrast to your disslikes. But either way I will give you another chance to get your point across. (I would edit my original post but my browser i am on isnt working well with the new forums) Is there anyway you could write a small example of why it is you like or disslike some things, you have to be honest with yourself here and acknowledge that some things are not clear at all and no way to know exactly what you are trying to get at. I think you know exactly what i am getting at so please don’t search for holes just to exploit them and throw it back in my face or use it against me. Just seems many search for reasons to dissagree or call someone out rather then sticking to the topic at hand and being contsructive and positive.

I don’t need a second chance, thanks. I’ve done nothing wrong. You’ve been given some examples already and like I said, I didn’t want to have to write an essay. Particularly where I’m being asked to write it to satisfy the needs of someone who thinks I need to prove myself.

At this point, I’m going to write this thread off as deliberate trolling. To think you’re the one who used the phrase ‘hiding your dickheadness behind the guise of civility’. Oh, the irony!
