Stoker's molotov against EV

Hi, so I’ve been playing for a long time, well since release of Sparks and got already player more than 590h. So I think I can whine a little. I don’t know, where I have to throw that damned molotov to deal some damage to EV. When you throw it right to the side or front, it bounces of and deal no damage at all. I even tried to throw it to the top and flames just dropped through EV to the ground doing zero damage. I’m not sure but I think that I’ve read in some patch notes that molotov’s damage to EV was fixed so please tell me what am I doing wrong.

I’m inclined to agree, Stoker feels more like a discount Fragger or something.

I always try to throw it right at the front of the base of the EV. But it’s still a hit or miss, I have yet to find a consistent way to do damage to the EV.

I found this issue not too recently, turns out it does damage at the base of the EV once the EV has actually driven over the molotov, so I wouldn’t throw it at a stationary EV, hope this helps somewhat…

I usually wait until someone else destroys it then i fling his mollie behind it so it can’t be repaired

Yep, it’s inconsistent and should be fixed, but it’s not like it’s really meant for the EV anyways. It’s just a last resort when your team has no one else, it’s not designed to be a reliable way to destroy it.
It’s like trying to destroy the EV with nader, proxy, fletcher, or fragger. Sure you can do it, hell I’ve even done it with aura, but complaining that it’s ineffective, at something they were never designed to do, isn’t really that great of an idea.

Even kira. Her laser doesn’t do that much damage to the EV compared to airstrikes, but that’s not an issue, because the real purpose of her laser is to kill the people surrounding the EV, not so much the EV itself.

Point being, you’re trying to use something that isn’t supposed to take out the EV to take out the EV.

but yea, mostly i throw molotov at evn not to destroy it but to deny area behind and around the ev so enemies cant push it.

So basically what you’re saying the only one designed to take out the AV is Skyhammer…no one else? Maybe Arty? Arty doesn’t do a while lot of damage either…you need to use multiple salvos and if you don’t aim perfectly you need even more…

I’ve busted the EV more consistently with the Timik than his mollies. It really should do mote consistent damage, at least 2/3 of the RVs health if it’s stationary.

We need a petition to buff Stokes and Kushwanker.

Arty has two airstrikes for that reason.
But as I said, they’re not designed specifically for that. Arty and skyhammar are basically built for destroying the EV, other mercs only do so as a sort of secondary goal.
I do think the molotov should be improved, but you shouldn’t bring stoker to an EV map and expect him to be the only think keeping the EV down.

The worst thing is, that sometimes you expect the molotov to do at least a little damage to finish EV but it bounces of and end on the ground infront of EV doing no damage at all. That’s what should be fixed. I don’t say that molotov should do 100% damage against EV so it can outplay Arty’s or Skyhammer’s airstrikes. I just want it to be usefull way of finishing heavily damaged EV. Right now even Timik or pistol can do this job better which isn’t fine. When Stoker was released it’s molotov dealt more damage to EV than now does.

Maybe it’s just wrong perception but sometimes it feels like the molotov does not affect the generator on Bridge either even though it gets hit directly.

Except even with two precise strikes he can’t disable it…the only one who can disable it in one strike is a decently placed Airstrike marker.

So if only one Merc can effectively take out the EV, I see no reason at all others shouldn’t be able to do decent damage to it if they don’t have a Skyhammer.

So what you’re saying is teams should be screwed if they don’t have one or two specific mercs on their team?
