Steam Trading Master Thread

(Malkovich) #21

csgo has the exact same system and it seems to work fine. I think it could work here provided that there is some way of slowing down or preventing people from farming. I dont think it would be a problem as is, considering how long it takes to trade up to decent rarity though.[/quote]

CSGO isn’t free, this is. You make 30k credit upon reaching lv4 in this game. Don’t you think people will keep making new accounts and opening 30 free cases? I know some people already do do that even though it is pretty pointless right now.

I personally like having to search for the best loadout card. Keeps me playing.

(captivatedSandal) #23

Let me know what you think

(Ghosthree3) #24

Bad idea, it makes them less special.

(captivatedSandal) #25

You would only be able to trade with the same rarity like gold vs gold yes
but gold vs silver no. The loadouts will still be special this way because
you need to own one to trade it for one you prefer.

(Ghosthree3) #26

Unless you have duplicates then I can’t imagine many trades would happen. I mean there are clear winner loadouts that everyone wants so no one is going to trade one for your more shitty one.

But yes, in this case rarity is maintained, not too bad.

(babyblueFist) #27

I personally don’t think trading should be a thing. Unless they change up the whole load of thing. There needs to be something to bring me to play dirty bomb, and searching for the right load out “tickles that fancy” currently.

(Nail) #28

can’t see it happening, has no financial benefit

(PlayingUndead) #29

This has come up a few times, and while I don’t exactly have a standpoint on the subject, I have to admit that I’d be leery of it simply due to devaluing loadout cards. As it stands you gotta work your ass off or shell out real cash because your chances of getting exactly what you want are so low. Truthfully more than wishing to trade cards, I wish I could sell drops on the Steam community market for Steam money like in CSGO hah, but I know THAT’S JUST A SILLY IDEA.

Anyway if trading did happen, I’d be looking forward to people joining matches just to say “WTT GOLD ARTY FOR SILVER ANY MERC PLS” and leave hahah. I like that you added in some concepts to try to balance it out a bit though. In the future, who knows. I think as of now it’s difficult to see trading as beneficial for the game’s survival, but if Dirty Bomb does quite well and in the future we’re looking at loaadss more content then it might strengthen the game a lot.

It would be sick to trade cards, especially through Steam.

Thanks RuleofBooKz I’ll be sure to repost it another 434343434 times just so you get the message.

I haven’t heard anything more on it, though honestly I don’t see it being good for the game in its current form. Since loadouts are the only thing to trade right now, putting those in the marketplace would pretty much kill the only non-merc source of income for the game since you’d be able to buy the specific loadouts you want for (likely) a cheaper price than is offered in game.

(Fap Fap Master) #34

But if you think about it, more people will buy which means more income right? regardless of how cheap it is, it still is income, and it will be a constant stream of income.

Not really.
Let’s say you have a cobalt card and you’re trying to sell it for 5 euro on the steam market. only 50 cents of that will go to Steam (For the trade) the other 4,50 will go to the seller. And nothing of this goes to Splash Damage/Nexon if im correct.

Haven’t done my research but i was once told this is how it works

Also, being able to buy stuff directly from the steam market would mean nobody buys Elite cases anymore as they’re Random rarity and 5 euro a case. Much cheaper to just buy Cards from steam

(RuleofBooKz) #36

it wont work. But please do make another thread about it tomorrow

(Fap Fap Master) #37

Okay

A portion goes to the makers of the game.
when you sell something for 1 cent, it gets increased to 3 cents. 1 for seller, 1 for steam, 1 for maker of that game.

(mrlong2) #39

SD, please hurry up and incorporate steam trading for loadout cards, this would solve so many issues. You could do it like TF2, where you can only trade if you got some money put into the game.

(ResidentDoom) #40

A trading system in between players in a game like this is a must(RNG system like CSGO)
But the problem here is that it can be abused by creating new accounts and more. The first thing make trading only for lvl 7+ players. And now for SD to make some more money heres my idea. After you trade a card with another player for the first time the card becomes locked until you buy something that unlocks the card for real money(Around 5$ maybe different price for each rarity.)What do you guys think?
