What else do we need than invisble cloak?
No but seriously, I see one clever way to accomplish stealth class. The solution could be to give the “stealth-class” some protection gear against the poison. You would have the ability to stay alive in those poisoned points that are used to seal the game area. So you could then sneak behind the enemies by using those class-exclusive routes. Obviously I understand this would mean more work for level designers, but if done properly, could add depth to the game. What do you guys think?
Give covops a gas mask? It could work but its usefulness would rely heavily on map layout. I like the idea but I’d hate to be on the map team if I had to put tunnels everywhere now.
I don’t like invisibility in this sort of game. It slows things down when you should be working with the team.
Halo 4 has a stealth item that gives you predator style invisibility while you’re standing still and you fade back in when you move and it’s time limited. But Halo 4 is set on far more open maps. To be honest it doesn’t really give that much of an advantage unless there’s a camping choke point in which case it’s just a cheap trick and not a useful addition to the game’s mechanics.
It’s the sort of mechanic that works great as something in a single player where you can stealth through an entire level like a boss ninja, but in multi-player it just doesn’t gel that well.
Even the disguise mechanic is a little cheap if not done right, but at least then a good team can do spy checks and good communication negates the disguise. There’s nothing you can really to defend against invisibility.
