Starting ModMaking/Mapping

Im just getting into actually making mods and maps for games like Wolfenstein and Doom 3. Ive never modded before but am interested in doing some.

If anybody can help me out with links to sites which tel you how to mod/map etc. and the software i’ll need to do so.

You should take a look at the sticky threads in the level designer- and the mod making-forums.
You can also use Quake 3 or RTCW tutorials.
