Crispy. If I may put my two cents into this.
When I tried playing with Brink set in task manager priority to high,it didnt crash, but it did lag up from time to time.(And still horrid performance sadly)
[Stability] AllocRenderModel Crash
I have received two replies from the 20+ people who mentioned experiencing the issue.
If anyone else is getting this crash reliably (i.e. you can be sure you’ll get it during a given play session) contact me and I’ll ask you to run some settings to try and catch the crash.
Since the latest patch this is the only server side crash I’ve seen so far
This is a good thing since the 30s timeout seems sorted quickly touches wood
However this AllocRenderModel crash is very regular, every 30min or so

If there are any server side cvars you’d like us to try just let me know
EDIT: Whoops, meant to send this as a PM

This solved the AllocRenderModel Crash for me. Setting brink.exe priority to high. Now i can play!
Hey, I’m new here, like a couple of others I’ve only signed up because I’m experiencing this error.
That fix hasn’t helped me at all. Just set priority to high, started a freeplay game, and it crashed with the error within less than 5 minutes as usual.
Its funny how only two people have responded to help Crispy with this though considering only one page back in this thread he posted this:
Surely that may contribute to why nobody else is participating?
I’d offer to post some crashes myself been as it literally happens to me within every single game I create but I’m away from my main PC for at least another week. Thought I’d offer my thoughts anyways though…
****ing hell! I did every stupid thing to play that game …everything! update my ass installed 20 times and still crashes after 10 min cmon guys I tried everything and still this ****in’ allocrendelmodel crash…I wana kill some 1

The second round is using a Cvar we added into the game in a past patch specifically to help track down this crash.
I hope people will actually help with this.My only suggestion as of yet is to set priority to high,it may or may not help. For me it does, for others it may not, but it is a solution for now.But make sure to actually reproduce the crash first after getting PM from Crispy, and sending him all the files so SD team gets the info about crash.
Ah, that was my bad then. Misunderstood things a bit I guess. It’s good to know this is being dealt with though!
Well, like I said before, I’m away from my PC for another few days but I told my brother to go on and make a character (I usually never let him anywhere near my PC!) and play around whilst trying the high priority fix again to see if I was just unlucky. It still crashed though within a few minutes.
However, I then told him instead to set the priority to ‘Realtime’ which is the highest setting it can go to I think and he told me it drastically reduced the amount of crashes. I think hes been playing most of last night and maybe the night before and he’s said he can manage about 10+ rounds before he got the crash again!
Assuming he’s telling me the truth which he should be lol then that definitely must mean the crash relates to memory usage right? At least for my PC it does. I’ll comment back once I get to try first hand and maybe finally get to play the game properly but it feels like a positive step in the right direction so good call Greer, sorry I doubted it before
Got that problem quite often (2 or maybe 3 times in something like 2 hours).
Can’t know when it’ll happen though… still trying to figure it out.
Windows XP SP3
C2D @ 2,2Ghz
ATI HD4850
2 GB RAM.
Sind it doesn’t work everywhere. For me after the patch when I tried it-I had the crash, so the error is still there.
As the guy on the thread stated,it only masks it making you able to play a bit longer without a crash.I just hope Crispy responds about this soon.
I concur, the priority change makes it happen less often, but still happen eventually.
