Same here… crashing every 1min. although sometimes i can play for an hour without it happening :confused: Any news what splashdamage is doing about this? Cause it seems i just flushed my money down the ****ter

For me its mostly these kind of errors related to muzzle_flashes: AllocRenderModel called from a different thread for ‘particles/weapons/muzzle_flashes/arifle_heavy_3rdperson’

It variates,it may relate to model textures,or muzzleflash textures.

Haha nice to see SD have got their priorities right… After exactly 1sec of playing with the new patch i crash due to this. This is ETQW/Wolfenstein all over again - Im almost as happy with this as I was with the fixing of the underwater horn bug in ETQW honestly!

For the record - i didnt have this issue when I used a cracked version of the game (without steam) so it might be steam related? I used the exact same config back then with the same video drivers.

FWIW, I can easily and reliably reproduce the issue on the non-legit version as well, so I doubt it’s Steam related.

Sent Crispy the PM,I suggest everyone who has the issue to do the same so the devs will actually have more info and be able to fix it(and to actually help them fix it instead of yapping).

So far I didn’t experience any crashes after patch :slight_smile:

P.S.
After current patch was released I noticed one minor bug, mouse freeze after game finishes with loading (can’t move cursor, it’s stuck in middle of main menu).
Fix for that is: open console and use command “in_restart”. I didn’t experience this bug before patch though.

just started brink with the new update. this is what i got a few minutes in the game. i didn’t have that before the patch.

  1. Go into your Steam Library, and right-click on BRINK
  2. Click ‘Properties’
  3. Click ‘Set launch options…’
  4. Paste the following: +set logFileName “console_AllocRenderModel_$Y.$M.$D_$h.$m.$s.lo g” +set logfile 2 +set com_protectMainThread 1
  5. Run Brink from Steam and attempt to produce the crash
  6. If you produce the crash, retrieve the logfile:
    1. Go to …\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata#steamid#\22350\local\base
    2. Find the file called console_AllocRenderModel_xxxx.log
  7. See if the crash also produced a minidump (MDMP) file
    1. Go to …\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\brink\
    2. Look for the most recently created MDMP file
  8. PM me with a link to the files, or if you don’t have a way to host the files, let me know and I’ll give you an email address to send them to

I posted this is another thread but was pointed to this one, so I’ll just repost it here.

It’s been almost 20 days since release, and I have been patiently waiting on patches, ect. to fix this issue I have been having.

Here is the error message. It seems to have something to do with the particles, as the specific particle varies with each crash. I turned particles off in the console, but it didn’t help.

My system specs are Intel E7400 Core2Duo 2.8 Ghx, 4 gigs ram, ATI 4830, WinXP64. I am using the newest 11.5b ATI drivers, but I have tried 11.5, 11.5a, 11.4., and 11.2.

Hopefully someone has an idea regarding a possible solution. I am at my wits end. I haven’t even really gotten to play. I got this game hoping it would bring the old clan back together, and it’s just been one let down after another. Can anyone help?

I have received two replies from the 20+ people who mentioned experiencing the issue.

If anyone else is getting this crash reliably (i.e. you can be sure you’ll get it during a given play session) contact me and I’ll ask you to run some settings to try and catch the crash.
