Placebo, that is entirely placebo or exaggerated without any real data to back it up no doubt

just to clarify, aiming fundamentals dont change because you change your screen from 60hz to 120hz, you can either aim with it or without it, or you cant aim at all
To be able to track something, you need a very good picture. And CRT did that, but the modern monitor does not. This ain’t placebo effect.

And to second that, there is not only tracking, but also overal response time of the screen.

I can send an IP packet to Europe faster than I can send a pixel to the screen. How f’d up is that?
Ah i really dislike your perspective in this post, you are taking a different issue (you being outskilled in the game) and blaming it on the movement system, when really the issue at hand for you, is that you have been thrown into a server with players too far above your skill level, and they are using the skills they have mastered that you haven’t to their advantage.

The reason rex/others have the skill and can use it as an advantage is because they have invested more time in the game learning the mechanic than those who cannot do it. So too right they should be rewarded with an advantage in game play as they’ve dedicated themselves to improving at the game. Why should a player who’s invested 1000 hours be restricted to the same basic movement mechanics as a player who’s only just installed the game? Maybe you can now see why those of us who have mastered more advanced movement from previous games feel like DB is extremely dull and repetitive as its currently restricting us from doing the advanced movement we know, love and can take advantage of.

A more advanced movement system that you cannot just pick up easily shouldn’t be a negative because of the skill gap being too big between those who can and can’t do it. The solution to this issue is ensuring that people play with equal/nearby skill groups and not a massive gap which is down to a competent match making system. In addition to this SD need to find a way to communicate and show players how to achieve this more advanced movement and the benefits of learning it to open new players eyes as to the learning curves that are possible. When players can see what’s possible and see themselves progressing skill wise in the game, i think long term investment in terms of time and therefore money (Depending on the store system) will follow.
i was outskilled in QW yes. but this isnt QW. i didnt complain it was just fact and i got on with it.
in DB we all start again and learn new skills and maybe people who were skilled in qw wont be in db. but probably it will be the same so your logic doesnt hold up the same people will be ahead but with a new set of movement tools.
qw jumping wont be in db anyway so its not a fear on my part. im just trying to explain that to people who need to accept that its going to be different in db.

another thought.
i am not very dexterous never have been.
a friend of mine has lost a finger and struggles with some games.
others have lost a hand or even an arm.

the type of jumps some keep wanting from qw is beyond a lot of people.
to exclude these people from enjoying a game or some features is wrong.

my point is qw jumping etc was excluded from people like myself.
and hopefully new movement is a little more flexible in the way that they are performed allowing a wider range of people to enjoy and compete.
or would you only want an elite few be able to achieve certain things.

well thats my last post on the subject. mm i think ive said that before.

instead of complaining its not qw jumps, its not qw. over and over.
why not be constructive for a change and come up with new movement abilities like kendle has done.

TBH I don’t matter which movement system at the moment, but it should certainly not be limited because some players are not as skilled as others.
As soon as I get double my age (60), every 10 year old will pwn the **** out of me. I doubt my reaction time will be on par. Maybe we get more visual indicators as to what the next move is, that way I could keep up I guess.
This game, like every other online game needs a match making system which has not been seen yet. Something which allows you to find the enemies at your skill level. Without giving the feeling that your low skilled. In fact skill has no ceiling. The more a game is dumbed down, the faster it will be consumed and digested. Make it a long and steady learning curve. And people will feed from it a long time.
This neg guy is a moron. Why do people like him come to test a game and try pretend like they know everything about anything? Moving from a 15" normal flat screen to a 22" HD super fast hz and saying its a placebo? Wow. I might sell my mouse and pull out the roller ball mouse just to re-coup some of the money I wasted on a lazer mouse. Infact, I might just swap my headset for my 2.1 speakers I was given for m PC when I was 13.

Oh, and as far as not knowing me is concerned. I am kinda a big deal. You will get to know me because I am just simply superior to you peons. My name is Potty and I like to party. Get on board and wise up.
Mhm didn’t want to flame this neg guy at his first appearance, but Potty is right.

(Anti) #66

If the guy is right or wrong he still doesn’t deserve abuse. Running people off the forums doesn’t help anybody. Please relax folks.

(potty200) #67

I was just knocking him off his high horse. You will see he completely tried to belittle everyone prior to my post. We have enough of this type of person already on the forums. Saying I am lucky I didn’t get “flamed” and so forth. If you can dish it, you gotta take it. Apart from, most of his “targets” were not dishing anything.

Maybe yes. Though personally I highly doubt it.

It’s not about qw movement at all, it’s about the movement system in general.
the type of jumps some keep wanting from qw is beyond a lot of people.
to exclude these people from enjoying a game or some features is wrong.
They “exclude” themselves by not wanting to improve, learning new things or investing time in the game.
An example: The tracking based aim is beyond a lot of people who can’t aim. Can’t we just get a hardcore mode where all people die by 1 shot to their foot? Excluding people who constantly die due to their weaker aim is wrong. Let’s make it easy peasy to keep the skill for all players on the same level.

I believe you.
and hopefully new movement is a little more flexible in the way that they are performed allowing a wider range of people to enjoy and compete.
or would you only want an elite few be able to achieve certain things.
Those who do something to become “elite” should be rewarded. Without something which can be mastered in the game, it would be extremely boring. And if there is no room to improve there would be no reason for me to play.

I can’t be constructive, because I have no ideas sadly. What SD said about the movement system is for me a contradiction, so I can’t really contribute anything.

Think movement abilities that don’t just add a consistent multiplier to the base sprint speed. Examples; wall jumps, ramp jumps, crouch jumps, mantles, slides, impact jumps, circle jumps, etc.

It is indeed really hard, that’s also the reason why I’m worried all the time.
If I steal ideas from other games I will get flamed for wanting ET2/QW2, so not really a good idea.

lets quote a bunch of stupid sources on information that is in no way relevant to anything being discussed, you seem to think i wouldnt wipe the floor with you with a 2-5ms/60hz lcd, when you are using your 120hz/2ms

all the gear no idea seems pretty appropriate here

Dont even need to comment on the fact that you have absolutely no clue what you are talking about?
get back in your hole and stay there please

seriously you people who are buying into alpha are so god damn stupid

Atleast Windkun was classy.

That’s the 3rd Windkun I’ve counted so far. Can’t wait until we hit open beta and more people like neg will follow!
