Ah i really dislike your perspective in this post, you are taking a different issue (you being outskilled in the game) and blaming it on the movement system, when really the issue at hand for you, is that you have been thrown into a server with players too far above your skill level, and they are using the skills they have mastered that you haven’t to their advantage.
The reason rex/others have the skill and can use it as an advantage is because they have invested more time in the game learning the mechanic than those who cannot do it. So too right they should be rewarded with an advantage in game play as they’ve dedicated themselves to improving at the game. Why should a player who’s invested 1000 hours be restricted to the same basic movement mechanics as a player who’s only just installed the game? Maybe you can now see why those of us who have mastered more advanced movement from previous games feel like DB is extremely dull and repetitive as its currently restricting us from doing the advanced movement we know, love and can take advantage of.
A more advanced movement system that you cannot just pick up easily shouldn’t be a negative because of the skill gap being too big between those who can and can’t do it. The solution to this issue is ensuring that people play with equal/nearby skill groups and not a massive gap which is down to a competent match making system. In addition to this SD need to find a way to communicate and show players how to achieve this more advanced movement and the benefits of learning it to open new players eyes as to the learning curves that are possible. When players can see what’s possible and see themselves progressing skill wise in the game, i think long term investment in terms of time and therefore money (Depending on the store system) will follow.
i was outskilled in QW yes. but this isnt QW. i didnt complain it was just fact and i got on with it.
in DB we all start again and learn new skills and maybe people who were skilled in qw wont be in db. but probably it will be the same so your logic doesnt hold up the same people will be ahead but with a new set of movement tools.
qw jumping wont be in db anyway so its not a fear on my part. im just trying to explain that to people who need to accept that its going to be different in db.
another thought.
i am not very dexterous never have been.
a friend of mine has lost a finger and struggles with some games.
others have lost a hand or even an arm.
the type of jumps some keep wanting from qw is beyond a lot of people.
to exclude these people from enjoying a game or some features is wrong.
my point is qw jumping etc was excluded from people like myself.
and hopefully new movement is a little more flexible in the way that they are performed allowing a wider range of people to enjoy and compete.
or would you only want an elite few be able to achieve certain things.
well thats my last post on the subject. mm i think ive said that before.
instead of complaining its not qw jumps, its not qw. over and over.
why not be constructive for a change and come up with new movement abilities like kendle has done.
