(schnoog) #1

Hi folks!

Attentive ET-player and community active people have noticed that the splatterladder project is back under a new management and stunning new ideas and features.

http://et.splatterladder.com

To give you a small summary of already implemented and overworkes features we decided to announce it here.

overworked:

  • new serverlist indicates whether a server is ranked/rated or not
  • new maplist indicates if a map is enabled or disabled for rating, av. maptime
  • playersignature generator linked at your reserved playernames for more comfort
  • new downloadlinks pointing to http://wolffiles.de (work in progress)

new implemented features (way more to come - believe me):

  • serverbanner generator - works like the playersignature generator but for your server
  • free textpad service - http://pad.splatterladder.com (allows collaborative simultaneous editing of a text file)

Read more on et.splatterladder.com and in our forum: http://forum.splatterladder.com/index.php?showforum=91

Everyone is invited to share your needs and ideas on the first ranking and tracking project on the place: splatterladder - we are watching you!

Cheers

We made a little change within Splatterladder.
You may noticed, that no the old serverlist 3 out of the top 5 server were full of bots, and they were almost all in spectator team.

Our serverlist is now sorted by real playing guys, what means:
Spectators count less than active player, spectating bots have no count.

We hope you`ll enjoy this little change (thx. to dutchman for the real real good point brought to us)

Regards

Maybe that’s why some admins were asking on Omni-Bot forums how to keep bots spec, and to get them disconnect while a player joins… A great feature, thank you SL Team

The next features are implemented in the Splatterladder serverlist:
-A little picture indicates wether a server is streaming to anti-cheat communities ( currently pbbans, punksbusted and GCC ) or not.

-A reputation point system: Based on the current player-evaluation we modded our serverlist (see 2 posts before) . Now we implemented a second stage:
Reputation. What means that?
For example: A server shown as PB enabled, but PB is outdated or not working (it`s easy to spoof the infostring, so every tracker will display PB is actve, even when it is not) we give a -30 reputation point
A server copies Realplayernames (registred in SL) for usage as names of the bots on server -> -30 reputation point.

Each reputation evaluation will be displayed on the concerning serverinfo - page (transparency is all! )

We hope you like our extended service

Servers that are running a multi version aka server is visible on 2.55 and 2.60 are displayed multiple times in the server list. Apart from that it looks pretty cool.

Bot name like “Shoot’n’Run” or any other name without “BOT” would be sanctioned?

(schnoog) #9

We know about this issue, but I have no clue how to handle this (atm).

(schnoog) #10

Mateos, thats not the problem and will not be sanctioned
In first line I had such a problem with a serveradmin called his bots like other realplayers (including clan-tag).
The realplayer informed me about this behavior but all I was able to do was to disable tracking for the server completly. Now we`re able to penalize the the server by rating.

Ah nice, but I’m sure some admins will not appreciate this, saying they do this to be more popular and attract players by a 30/40 server…

(schnoog) #12

For sure this will happens
But IMO Splatterladder should show the degree of respect / vogue of the server.
I had an almost same discussion with an admin. He told me to add 40bots in spectator is only to find new player and get the server filled up.
But neither SL is a pure server-advertisment platform nor I support any tricks to push a server on rank 1.
Popularity could not and should not be archievable by adding bots.

One user asked me to go a step forward and give negative reputation for server which changing the main-menue (u know what is meant? An overkill in-game-menue with tons of links… and they stay also when joining an other server / mod)

Only to show I`m relative moderate

A few days ago, we added another filter-criteria to our serverlist: An indicator wether the server is streaming to pbbans, punksbusted or gcc.

Thumbs up for the new filter system, filtering out these many many fake servers. These were so pestering, for example those 64 players, 62 bots servers. Always up in the list like 4 or 5 of them. I don’t really know why these exist, but they are definitely annoying.

Never saw so much changes on SL o.o Keep improving it
