I assume they posted it on reddit because this forum is nothing but NO DON’T NERF MY PHANTOM!! While you all band together and downvote anyone that disagrees with you repeating “oh he’s just new you’ll get over it” instead of trying to satisfy the other side of the player base with solutions. It’s almost as tiresome as the numerous threads being made by players who feel disappointed in the path the game has taken.
Reddit is where people come up with actual comparisons and statistics to try and help balance mercenaries so I’m not surprised they didn’t post it here. Maybe if the forum layout wasn’t so childish (like, dislike,LOL,disagree, agree) they’d also be more compelled to post it here. So yes I’m glad they prefer posting to reddit. Even though most reddit people’s are elitists they actual think about things in an unbiased way and get shit done. (I don’t browse reddit I’m an imgur guy).
Oh please, right now the reddit sub is one big circle jerk. If someone even so much as suggests a counter to Phantom they can say good bye to their karma. They aren’t even allowing a discussion to happen, anyone who even slightly disagrees that Phantom is game breakingly OP gets their comment buried with downvotes. At least here we can actually discuss ways of countering Phantom without all the hyperbole and knee jerk rage.
A “circlejerk” with more than 200 person on it, heh.
Opinions differ.
He’s right, though.
I dare point out on reddit that Phantom only needs slight tweaks instead of complete feature removals, I dare say that a Fragger is as effective as a Phantom in competent hands, I get labeled idiot immediatly.
You find this forum stupidly licking SD’s hand? Reddit is on the opposite end of the spectrum, and equally stupid.

A lot of people these days can’t respect an opinion, it’s visibly especially true on Reddit, but it’s also true everywhere, and also on those forums. And you’ll find those kind of people in both camps. It’s something you’ll have to deal with.
In my case, I just give my opinion, and I don’t or rarely try to argue after. I gave my point, I see who is agreeing, who’s disagreeing, who found it interesting, and that’s cool. If someone writes something that I find interesting (agreeing with me or not) and I feel like he won’t blow up at my face if I give an idea he may not like, I may want to debate a bit. If I see an opinion that I don’t like, at worst I just leave a “disagree”, because it’s harmless. Unless that guy is trying to make his argument worth something by insulting the other camp, I’ll hardly leave a “dislike”. I even left some “insightful” notations on some posts that are the absolute opposite of my opinions, just because the guy argued pretty well while being respectful. Respecting opinion is something so rare those days, I think it has to be rewarded someway.
This said, I think it’s better to be downvoted rather than trashtalked. It gives to some people a way to fight against the frustration of being said “no” without insulting people. It’s a bit the case in another forum that I actually moderate : a lot of people are actually throwing insults just because some persons do not agree with them, and we do not have a way to downvote… Of course a massive dose of those downvotes can bury your posts, but in my case I am always too curious so I always open posts that are “buried”. If I see that the guy has been downvoted for giving his opinion, I sometimes leave an upvote, and I doubt that I am the only one. That’s a bit of a paradox, it’s the burried posts that attracts the most your attention.
