Splash Damage - You better not do this!
Um, ok.

bla bla bla bla bla Fallout 3. bla bla bla bla bla on drugs.

Fallout 3 bla bla bla bla bla. Bethesda bla bla bla bla bla.

:magicpony:
Learn to read…

This is neither running on the fallout 3 engine or been made by Bethesda as stated in my previous post and by many others…

Wait a second YPS just started a completely random topic irrelevant to the thread at hand. Starve it.

Yes, Gorker just saw his postcount source disappear.

(Looted) #224

BUT

preordering = being there from the start.

ucwatididthar?

pre-order bonuses need to stay exclusive to those that pre-order, else there’s no point in pre-ordering. companies like pre-orders for SEVERAL reasons. it’s a marketing strategy in order to obtain said pre-orders.

if you don’t offer me free **** for pre-ordering, i’m waiting for a demo like the rest of the crowd.

(tokamak) #225

Thanks for demonstrating that a monetary value can be attached to pre-ordering.

Personally I’d love to see the post count hidden. People can’t wait for persons with high post counts to start using it as token of authority so they start using it as a personal attack pre-emptively. I really like to see it gone.

(Seyu) #226

About pre-orders, I feel that Bethesda should have gone the BC 2 way, just provide stuff that would’ve been available to others in the later part of the game or something that is for cosmetic purposes. Anyway, I wouldn’t be surprised if the pre-order swag appears as DLC in a few weeks.

Also, would it be possible for the players to mod outfits they want for their characters?

I think the game testing and bug removal is undertaken by the publisher, no? And I kept crashing every time I talked to anyone in Megaton.

This is all about what you call “from the start”

I’m by far not the oldest one on these forums, been hanging for quite a while tho, and I wont pre-order as i want to see a demo / beta first, so where is the famous “start” :open_mouth:

aaaaaaaarggggghhhhyh my brain is exploding…

plotch

I think it’s more about having faith in them from the start. If you’re waiting for a demo, you obviously don’t.

(Apples) #229

Indeed I dont o_O This is not religion here my friend, this is marketing! Having “faith” and being blind isnt the same definition IMO…

But unlike religion, we have actually seen gameplay and read reviews (form both journalists and regular gamers) and gathered info. It’s not like it’s all talk and no substance (like religion)

(tokamak) #232

That would be a really insecure gesture.

Pre-order is all about estimating the success of a title so they can adjust their advertising budget on it.

(Apples) #233

Post reported for inapropriate gossip!

I agree with you on this, I may say then that I havent seen enough yet to preorder, heh the more you love the more you hate right?

Peace

Perhaps - I rarely pre-order games, and up until Borderlands came out, I didn’t pre-order a game for around 15 years. I base my pre-orders on information. Yes, including bonuses with pre-orders is a good marketing tactic, but I could care less for them - pre-ordering is my way of saying to the devs, “your game is gonna kick ass!” and EVERY game I ever pre-ordered was worth it.

Its more a soccer mother mentality imo

(Yellow Steroid Puff) #237

Doesn’t matter to me, Reanimator. The mere fact that Bethesda is somehow involved makes me leary about this game. I hope I’m wrong, but I think my concern is more than warranted.

:goliathspin:

(DarkangelUK) #238

No it’s not

(Yellow Steroid Puff) #239

Well, you’re entitled to your opinion. Try playing the PC version of Fallout 3 (or talking to the legions of people who are extremely p.o’d at Bethesda because of this particular game) and we’ll see if you stick with it.

I preordered last week. US dollar to Aussie Dollar is good atm so I wanted to take advantage (On Steam) heh…

I’ve been preordering a lot lately. Even if a game isn’t everything that it’s cracked up to be at launch, titles are of a much higher standard these days, and if there are bugs on release the people complain and the patch comes out a week or 2 later to fix the problems.
