Splash Damage this is one bug you want to fix!

I just saw this happen on my server and I mean I actually saw it. I watch an allie engineer plant dynamite on fuel depot and it didn’t say a think about dynamite planted but yet this dynamite could blow up the depot letting the allies win the game. At first since there were a few axis defending I thought it was a friendly engineer pulling the old plant fake dynamite just in case any allies would come by, but it wasn’t the case. THIS NEEDS FIXED BIG TIME!!!

Either make it so it reports the dynamite being planted or make it does not do damage to objectives if it doesn’t report. On some maps like fuel depot this is deadly as the axis have no clue something is going on. Battery is another map this happens as well. I’m sure all the maps have this hidden area where dynamite can be planted without it reporting. I have seen Gold Rush demos with people planted dynamite in weird places that make no sense but yet near the tank barriers. The guns on oasis as well (planting dynamite outside the wall. Haven’t heard anything about Radar yet but I don’t think radar is that big on dynamite not being reported as it is on battery and fuel dump.

Dropped game warnings arent uncommon.

I can remember losing q3 OGL matches b/c no one on our team heard “enemy has your flag” warning.

Try to reproduce the error, before we assume its a new bug.

Yes Splashdamage you got to find a better way to create these plantareas, cause there are problems with lots of them. And also limit them in height a bit more.

Soon everyone will plant so nobody knows, or plant in wrong places as at oasis guns (the biggest example as it requires axis to guard a whole new area).

Similar to the first post, I have noticed a plant bug on Fueldump as well. At certain points within the fences by the fuel dump, you can plant dyno and it will say “dynamite planted by east/west axis defenses” when it is really planted at the fuel dump itself. Sure, if they are inside the fences by covert ops they might win anyways, but most people do not flock to disarm a dyno planted at east/west defenses because it is not a critical objective.

I often wondered that I didnt heared the plant warnings, this post explain a lot…
Another Prob is that the plantwarning is only shown per echo, so u cant see e. g. in oasis where the dyna is planted

I agree completely… I’ve had this happen a few times to me when I’m just sittin back waitin to see if anyone is tryin to get by on Battery, it’s pretty quiet… then… Allies win? wth? I didn’t hear anything! And you know… things like “Dynamite Planted” stick out pretty well in my head. Had I actually heard it, I probably woulda gotten the disarm. :frowning:

I have also experienced this a few times, mostly on Fueldump and Battery.
I also often don’t hear the dynamite planted message when dyna is planted near the command post in Railgun, but I’m not sure this is the same bug, since the command post is not a critical objective.

Even more disturbing news: I found out A WAY to plant silently, doesn’t work in all circumstances but I’m able to plant silently at fueldump, tankbarrier 1&2 and railgun , and those are the only ones I tried it on, I’m sure it will work at a lot more objectives. Dev’s should pm me if they want demos of this.

This needs an urgent bugfix and in the mean time a specific rule in competition regarding unannounced plants!

Sick Boy send the demos to Splash Damage so they can fix this.

Nothing new it was around and still is in original RTCW.

I really REALLY would feel better if i knew SD was working on this. I have the idea that they don’t even read this forum and all the bugs that are posted here.

Sure, the game was cancelled and we get all this for free (which is really cool guys, thanks again) but there are a few bugs that make online play less fun sometimes. So if one of them has a few spare hours at the end of the month i think a lot of ET-ers will be greatfull if he/she would spend it fixing bugs…
