Funny, this thread seems to be getting a lot of views.

I am positive people agree with me, as I know my friends also bought it and are greatly disappointed.

Alright, here we go.

Several things the developers promised are clearly not present in the game first of all. Secondly, first delayed it’s release, and then pushed it forward to have it released with all sorts of bugs/glitches that could’ve easily been prevented.

The match browser is terrible and produces immense lag for a lot of people (the filters are useless, you can use a few of them, such as map/game type, the others were clearly not thought up or tested)

Sound just vanishing on certain maps, the maps are very small, the parkour is VERY limited when they made it feel as if you would be able to climb anything

I’ve mentioned more in the original topic, this game is a bust, enjoy my money splash damage you douchebags

(Scamps) #66

you’re retarded, this game has received terrible reviews already, the ones that are good were most likely paid off.

Go look at Splash Damage’s front page, bragging about some of the good reviews (ALL ARE ****ING COMPANIES IN THE UK, OF COURSE THEY’LL GIVE A UK GAME A DECENT REVIEW)

Terrible.

what do you mean by limited parkour, u use a light character and scale the environment to get to good vantage points.

I have to admit lol I was dabbling around with that i thought you could customize yourself when you picked your archetype…it was KIND of disappointing that it didn’t let me mess around with how i want my character to look but since there is options to what i can put on that is pretty cool, I was also hoping you could have a color wheel so you can customize your outfit coloring to your liking…it’s all good though it offers more then any other game.

I keep coming back because if there’s one thing I love doing it’s feeding trolls. Even when they’re not trolls (don’t really feel like getting lectured again on what is and isn’t a troll) getting people to whine and moan is one of my favorite things that isn’t playing Brink or working on my fictional OOTP league.

I agree that these are very annoying. but like many games that have release day issues I’m sure they will be patched

What other games do you play? have you ever had issues with them on release?
I know that in both Black Ops and BFBC2 I had release issues BC2 taking a number of weeks to be sorted, when the patch did come I enjoyed the game and played it for nearly a year
Part of that is down to the guys I played with, some of them had no issues so were assuring me it was a good game worth the wait. If ALL your friends are having issues I can see how frustraited you must get. It’s your choice to stick with it or not, i know all my friends bar a few are telling me it’s a great game (and no they are not all SD fan boys, alot have never played a SD game or hated QW) So what are you thinking? ditch or give the Devs time to patch?

That whole comment about uk games getting positive reviews from uk reviews is kinda crappy. I’ve seen a lot more positive user reviews and community reviews than negative ones that i would take over some douche-bag gaming critic. payed of the good reviewers? who is to say someone else didn’t pay off the bad reviews, if we are going to make some blind statements. I’m all for having a debate, but if your going to be a complete douche bag, I’ll just bounce.
LOL oh wow, I’m assuming you are 15 years old with that grammar and spelling…And I wasn’t even replying to your dumbass, what are you replying to? Dumb ****

Anyways, game is ****, not what they promised, parkours a joke, customization is a joke, the weapons are awful, first delayed then released early with multiple bugs/glitches

Not something to be proud of, only people that like it are long time SD fans that are on the nutsack of Splash Damage (anyone who straight up and defends Brink has a lot of posts here clearly)
If you play this on a PC; What exactly is the FIRST thing you see after makin your character?

A message saying you’ll get 1000XP if you watch a video about the roles of the classes and whatnot. Reason they gave; Because Console players might not be used to team-based stuff. (They don’t show KDRs, assists, defuses, revives, downs, etc., because then it would turn into “OMGDEATHMATCHEVERYWHEREITSLIKEIMREALLYPLAYINGCOD”.)

Also; I GUARANTEE you can’t find a game from the past 2 decades (Meaning 2000-now, since 2010 marked a new decade, and if I didn’t tell you you’d bitch because you’re an idiot, Scamps.) that ISN’T glitchy on the first day. Plus, do you really expect poor/sick people living in a SHIPPING YARD to all have the exact same outfit? Same for the Security guys.
I mean, in IRL, do you see bomb-disposal squad guys (Look at “The Bomb”'s jacket on Security) to wear a shirt with the sleeves rolled up, or do you see them with them big-collared shrapnel vest things?

Also; You are the WORST troll I have ever seen. Jack Thompson was a better troll than you, and he was serious about EVERYTHING he had against videogames.
Wrong, but serious.

Note; I signed up here JUST to say this. Also, I didn’t even know Splash Damage existed until I was informed of Brink. No idea what other games they’ve got, don’t much care either, since I frankly prefer RPGs (Like WoW or Fallout).

You’re out of your element, kiddo.

I think the big problem is that we have to expect these patches to come. Would a demo serve better to help the devs realize some potential latency issues? I’ve joined a handful of games now where the game itself (not my system) lags out or just feels really clunky at times. There are times where the action is smooth but those are outnumbered by the latency issues I’ve been having.

One of my biggest annoyances is with a recent discovery (I just got a chance to play it today) that you can’t complete the challenges in co-op to receive the weapons/unlocks. I thought a major selling point of this game was the emphasis on teamplay? yes, it makes it “easier” but on the mission where you have to select different classes to complete certain objectives, it was clear that my team AI was far worse than the opposing AI. I couldn’t even get the hack box on without clearing their team entirely. even then they spawned so fast I had to keep moving. It took me a couple of tries to get it but I’ve finally completed it. I’ve also completed the other challenges in less than an hour.

The challenges were, overall, easy to complete but I find that not being able to complete the co-op missions with friends is pretty lame. Having only played for a few hours (at best) I still have a bit of unlocking to do (skills, perk/unlocks).

To the guys who keep saying wait for a patch, I think we’re letting developers off easy here. Some of these issues should have been addressed prior to release. It’s not like we’re asking for a 100% perfect game but come on, what happened to open betas and demos? I know theres a thread somewhere else that has some reason for why they didn’t release a demo (at least, I’ve seen someone reference it) but I think it’s ass backwards to think we should get an “unfinished” release and have to wait for future patches to fix issues.

I’ve got a decent system but the game still have framerate issues. Still runs fine to me but could benefit from more time in development.

been playing the game, its fun and exactly waht i expected it to be, too many children expected this to be the next COD knock off

Think the Beta is a double edged sword nowadays, Many people don’t get that it is designed to test and will either give no feedback to the Devs or (worse) start saying it’s a crappy game all over the place, often mistaking it foe a Demo

Developers can’t test every system set up and what works well in the confines of a studio will often perform poor when users get there hands on it

AS for the PS3/360 versions and there issues I don’t know that much about them, possibly it’s due to SD not having written for them before, perhaps a open beta on them would have worked but to be honest those comunities are much larger and therfore have a larger number of people to shout about how bad a game is,
Hell do they even have Open Beta tests on those platforms?

I was in an open beta for BFBC2 for the PS3 so to answer that question, yes.

As far as betas being a double edged sword, I think this is where you could have closed betas at first. This would be dedicated to the immediate community, those who you know are contributors and are loyal followers to your product. Beyond the closed beta I’d say it is a bit of a crapshoot whether or not you’ll receive some kind of feedback. But even in this case you’d at least get to see what kind of network issues the community will encounter (I think) but without having a beta/demo at all you’re just hoping for the best.

That’s my honest opinion – I joined the forums today not to troll but because I think the game could use some improvement and yes, no doubt we’ll see some in future patches. Again, to reiterate I’m not saying a game has to 100% perfect on release, it’s impossible. However, this could have been polished a bit more. Teamwork aspects, coop challenge issues, squads(?), etc. Latency and framerate issues are among a few other things that could have been smoothed out. I’m still going to play the game and hopefully we’ll all see a patch soon. I’m running a decent system as I stated in my last post but it’s interesting how taxing this game can be. I’ve turned the graphics down a bit and it’s running pretty smooth now.
