Splash Damage, the biggest con-artists ever?

(Scamps) #1

Seriously, customization… LOL!!

Alright, I am sure I am not the only one, but I was extremely pumped for what seemed like a good idea for an FPS at first and slowly dwindled as I got into the game further and further…

You start up the game and right away you get to “customize” your character…This customization consists of you picking a ****ing pre-made archetype and then choosing his skin color…OH WOW THAT IS JUST EVOLUTIONARY… That is NOT customizable, that is choosing from a premade layout provided for you…

The weapons are awful, there is like four of each class of weapon with almost no attachments that actually improve anything, and the stats are just a bunch of ****ing bars they decided to throw in with no real representation of the gun at all…

Brink also moves very clunky, has massive frame rate issues, even for those without ATI cards…

It is year 2011 and people are still releasing garbage that has worse movement than CS?

Honestly, what a huge disappointment…Your marketing team did a great ****ing job of lying to everyone.

You guys should be proud, you released a game that clearly needed testing still, lied about it (HAHAHA CUSTOMIZATION), and didn’t even make it par…What an awful game-producing company…This was my first experience with Splash Damage and hopefully my last…:stroggbanana:

(Murderous Pie) #2

and how long have you played the game for? you have to unlock all of the good stuff…

(gee666) #3

Have you even played the game mate, you unlock all kinds of stuff as you play

Damn ninjas sneaking on to the forums whatever nex snick

Obvious troll is obvious!!!

PC Gamer rage

(Scamps) #6

Is this the fanboy defense? I have played it, I am level 12. The game is clearly not finished, what unlockables are you talking about? I have all weapon attachments, they’re garbage, especially the sites, they do almost nothing apart from **** with the already unreliable stats…

You unlock new clothes, whoopty-****ing-doo, this has been implemented into games before, also even the clothes is part of a pre-made set…and there is only like 12 different sets or some ****…

There is nothing customizable in this game at all, you’ll see the same character as yours within joining 3 different servers, lets be honest.

“EVOLUTIONARY FPS”

Laughable…

(Linsolv) #7

I’m a little confused when it comes to people asking for more customization. Bear in mind the genre, guys. Where in FPS games have we seen anywhere near this level? Don’t say Fallout, it’s an RPG.

(Norb) #8

small update I just found on youtube for you

(Scamps) #9

Alright, all I see is “you trollin”, instead of people actually shining light on this, proving me wrong…

Why is a brand new game so heavy and rough to play for a lot of people? Seems like it should be in beta…

Why was a patch released within a day after the game was apparently in beta for months? What a joke…

Doesn’t support ATI, did they test this game on one PC? They probably all used the same rig “OH YEAH, RUNS FINE GUYS ON OUR $5000 SUPER-COMPUTERS!”

Bravo to Splash Damage marketing, you guys need to get paid something fierce for the sale of this horrid game…

Just log off, go to gamestop and turn it in. Now you have nothing to complain about. No one here feels sympathy for you. Because you are trolling.

(Mr. Magikarp) #12

You do know that you can mix and match clothing from the archetypes, yeah? You’re not limited to using things from only one. Also, every online game has these kinds of problems, and SD is working around the clock to fix them.

But I guess that these things don’t matter and you’re just gonna keep hatin.

(Dirty Kila) #13

I’m pretty sure if you did your research you would have known exactly what you were getting. Almost everything in the final game was announced… The only “surprise” was the latency issues and even that should have been obvious seeing as they said there would be no dedicated servers.

What kind of customization did you expect? Like Elder Scrolls?

Of course the sights do nothing… Did you think if you strap a red dot on a gun at home it makes it better?

The gun stats are represented as bars in a plethora of games… And what do you mean representation of the gun? You know they’re fictional gun models right…

And marketing team? The only marketing I saw was the 20 in poster in Gamestop.

I mean the game has been out barely 24 hours and you came up with all this… lol

Well that my dear friend is because you’re an idiot and nearly everything you mentioned in the original post was incorrect.

Because people aren’t used to teamwork, they want to rambo in like in CoD and similar games.

Because people aren’t good at it yet? Brilliant!

Because they didn’t test it properly for a console - why would anyone buy this for a console anyway.

Most super-computers use ATI cards so this point is moot - also I’m not sure why you think Splash Damage is some super wealthy game developer…?

To answer your question - the game plays fine on ATI cards if people would just update their drivers.

Bravo to SD for making a game that people like you won’t be playing, thankfully/hopefully.

Mhm, great response here, amazing community for such an amazing game, am I right? What a joke

49.99 for a game that feels like it was released in 2007…

Not trollin, deal with it, games awful and will NEVER be competitive…

Funny that they sold it off as if it were the next big FPS…

This man speaks truth.

(TJskwared) #17

lol, i would hate to see a load of sliders in the customization, i love the art style and i know most people (and me probably xD) would just ruin the style. now, show of hands, who has artists creating the models?.. oh, just Splash Damage, well, im not sure i care what you say actually, and yeah maybe you did run into the same ARCHTYPE as you, but i find it highly unlikely that you found like the one person out of thousands that may have taken even three of the same things. now please, if you have critisims about the game, make them clear by all means but not in a, ‘LOL EPIC FAIL LOL CON ARTISTS’ because then people stop listening and think your a troll when your probably not, just calm down and be adult.

Ok lests asume your not Trolling

You say in gfirst post that there is no customisation yet in a later one admit there is unlocks

so whats the issue? havent unlocked enough? play more

the weapons? well i hear very mixed reviews on this people say they are well meaty and some OP
some say they seem week

It’s an SD game and unlike COD or other games do not take 2/3 shots to kill (thats the game and a balance issue, no point having all the other stuff like PK if you are dead the second you show your face)

if you have a look at Linsolv (sp) charts you will see that most guns DO have a diffrence, the damage increase comes from Engi buffs (thats the point of having the buff system, so we’ll put that down to playing with guys learning the game)

Frame rates and FOV etc have been noted as an issue needing patched and while one was released today Paul has said they are working on it

Sadly even SD can’t test for every hardware config, If the COD games with all the money behind them cant do it then i think a young company like SD are gonna have probs too
My 460 was bugged to hell on BLOPs but you know what i stcuk with it and a patch came out and I enjoyed the gaeme

When BFBC2 came out htere were Probs for MONTHS for a TON of players , you know what they stuck withit and they enjoyed the game

Windows has Probs on release you know what people wait for updates and guess what it still outells the comp

Lastly Guess who did the marketing…Bethesda so if you feel conned speak to the DAMN publisher

Peace

gee

Nice proof here, really like your use of a constructive argument, dumbass.

Has nothing to do with team work, the game runs very luggy, people wanting to rambo has nothing to do with the ****ty framerate, get a grip you loser.

Beta because people don’t know how to play? No, beta because its clearly unfinished, notice the patch within a day?

Your other points are just retarded, I won’t even touch on them (why would anyone buy for console? GOOD POINT MAN, VERY WELL THOUGHT UP, why bother releasing it for console then you pasty nerd)

(raccoon) #20

Yeah I am extremely disappointed with the game. Not only with performance issues.
