Nope, but this is not what Heron’s spawntimer does. All scripts that help you to memorize the spawn times are ok for me, but this extended one gets the respawn time of the enemy so that you don’t even have to see it. Correct me if I’m wrong.
spawntimer
I didnt use it yet, so someone else can correct me know, but i think (90% sure) that you have to press a key when the allies spawn, so youll let the prog now at wich times it has to announce spawntimes… It doesnt use ingame info!
yep I used it yesterday on goldrush you need to press either + or - teo set either axis spawn time or allies its pretty useful for when they are coming out goldrush axis spawn hallways by bank lobbed a grenade in and killed 3 of them lol I really dont see how anyone can call it a cheat its basically just like a prebuilt script that you would use but instead its cased in a .exe
I’m not sure, but
heron is not allowed by CB rules, because it’s an external software
but a internal spawntimer script 's allowed
I think you’re right. This is from CB UK ET Ladder rules:-

2) Programs that do not interact with the game in any way are allowed, even if they can be used and operated simultaneously with the game. Voice communication programs are examples of such programs.
- All programs or files, be they changed game files or new files, that change the game or add to its functionality, or that interact with the game in any way, are strictly forbidden.

So voice comms is allowed because it doesn’t interact with the game, but Heron, which does, isn’t. I think that’s a bit silly since you can do the same thing as Heron with scripts.
I’m in clan boozze, someone of us (tziek) made heron. We never use it simply because we are too lazy to use it.
Like it was said before, leagues can forbid heron by adding a pb check. But people can make their own heron, so we thought it was fairest thing to release such thing publicly?
If you forbid tools, you can program a spawntimer that works with sounds not generated by et, etc…
Anyway, most spawntimes in ET are 20s or 30s, so you can easily make a script for it or just remember them (more “difficult” would be 35s/40S)
Afaik it’s not that important to keep track of spawntimes in ET as it is in RTCW… :???:
FYI: I tried it for a while, but Heron does a lousy job. It crashes intermittantly (overflow (6) or someting) and the counter is lagging a couple of seconds. Manually counting works much better.
Manually? You mean, like, once a year?
Obviously, anyone playing in a league ladder should comply fully with the letter and spirit of the rules. Maybe mentioning that you’re using a legal spawntimer might deflect and defuse any enraged accusations of Cheatage, Beastliness and General Awfulness.
Then again, most online FPS players are perfectly capable of starting a fight in an empty room, so it probably won’t make much difference.
:moo:
No, I mean keeping track of the clock yourself witout the aid of a tool :bash: .
About the Heron spawntimer tool, I’ve seen it used in Demos posted at Clanbase so I assumed this is within the letter and the spirit of the rules (amen). Servers can allow or block this tool, so I don’t really understand why you seem upset? Or is it just my ignorance?
