…the developers dont need to address spawn camping.
There are enough exits for gameplay to be balanced.

The issue normally is with unbalanced teams which admins can resolve by a shuffle …

The thing I don’t understand is, why people who continually run out of the same spawn exit and into artillery, complain when it happens again and again and again. Spawn camping would only happen if one team totally dominates if the camped team used a little brains.

My general rule of thumb is that if you kill me, it’s spawnkilling. But if I kill you, it’s l337.
Seriously, though, yah, this issue still rumbles on. I’m not sure there’s any simple solution. We could give every spawn twelve jump pads and a catapult, but someone would still get killed at the spawn and claim camping. Some players will claim they’ve been camped if they try to walk through a wall rather than a door. And you can bet that if we had random spawn locations pinging around the map, someone would work out a way to camp them, possibly by using Superconducting Quantum Interference Detectors, or a dancing banana.

Yes, if one side is consistently forcing the other back onto their spawn, it’s time for a shuffle or a new server. As for clan games, you make the rules.

Does that sound like passing the buck? Well, yes it is. But here, by way of recompense and apology, is some choreographic fruit.

Yes, it has often made me want to bite my face, but it has also made me a better player. It has also created a pile of broken computers on the street outside my 3rd floor window. :wink:

Yep. Nothing feels better than 2/3 of yas camping out 6 men at a time be it SMGs, Nades, Panzers etc while your m8s go grab the objective. At the end of the day the idea of the game is the objectives and regardless of how they are achieved, minus cheating ofc, its all in a days work.

The developers DO indeed already think about and address such things as Spawn Camping. This is why, for example, there is already 3/4 different entrances for say Axis Bank yard on GR or the ability to change spawns as Allies to attack via Truck Bar 1.

Admins can only do so much as well… in the end its down to the players full stop.

This just happened yesterday: a mortar pounds our (Axis) spawn at the old city wall and later our main spawn point continually, two maps laterat GoldRush he did the same with our spawn down at the second tank barrier. So I went looking for him, found and killed him (at the alternative/original allied spawn). than waited for a few sect, he respawned again as a mortar, ready to do his evil business and I wasted him again and he complained that I was spawncamping :smiley:
Than he changed to PanzerPussy to sit on the bridge above tank barrier 2 with his panzer, waiting for our spawn to get some easy kills… he claimed as a revenge for my spawn killing :banana:

On my server spawn camping is encouraged even…Et gives you invunerbility(3 seconds default) when you first spawn and almost always more then one exit out of spawn…The invunerbility on my server is increased to 4 and rarely does anyone complain about being spawn camped, spawn camping with an mp40 takes skill and you are getting “0wned” so stop whining
