Soundfiles are they "open" ?

Hi Folks.
I want to make a little song bout ET and therefore wanted to know if the voicechat sounds are copyrighted or not. And if copyrighted can i use em if i give credits or do i have to pay for the chats anyway ?

Stalag, I made some songs a while ago with the voicechats, and alas although my life has not got any better it has not got any worse either. And there was no slappage. Not yet anyway.

You still could be slapped by idsoftware if they d care about it cuz the soundfiles as all parts of the game of course are copyrighted. Read the EULA for further information (in case you got nothing else to do.)

They were used in homage to the game, I’d hope they wouldn’t be annoyed about it. Only a bit of fun like :frowning:

there have already been alot of songs that have been soley made out of the weapon sounds and I didn’t see one bit of acknowledgement for sd on their sites.
