Something is about to happen...

wow, yeah… the game was close to awesome? There were way way way way way more complaints a year ago.

(PixelTwitch) #22
yes. i agree - a year ago this game was close to awesome.
then it gone wrong and more wrong, until it became unplayable for me.
then it became slightly better. and slightly more better. but nowhere near to initial state.

what hurt me the most is maps being very weak, and SD for several patches did everything to NOT fix the maps. As long as walljumping appeared and some other movement stuff the maps went to waiting chamber for obvious reasons - movement is very important for map design. but it doesnt take away, that maps are very weak. for more than a year. and only one map is nice. whitechapel.
I think the old White Chapel is better…
BridgeAlt is my favourite map in the game,

i had a lot of great time with my team, playing vs old friends from etqw. even with bad maps. i had great time.

(Protekt1) #25

I don’t mean to say the game wasn’t awesome. I mean to say it has improved.

(Glottis-3D) #26

there were 3 or 4 old whitechapels. which one do you mean exactly?

the only nice in old versions was that with the Chappel-object. but it is gone. forever.

(BomBaKlaK) #27

Maps, objectives design and classless are the worst choices ever made in this game !
I think the old White Chapel is better…

nope for sure the new WC is better than the old one. but still not a good map.

Maps is the main problem why I stop playing, like all my mates.

London bridge : Claustrophobic, narrow
Waterloo : Uber small, easy to camp the 1rst attacker spawn, pumps acces (both) are useless
Canary Warf : tube design of the dead, no real side route, secondary obj are not interesting (like on every map) last objective is a joke.
Battersea : I hate capture zones, I don’t like the overall design, not really fun to play, objectives design is weak as usual, but even more on this one.
Greenwich : I dont try the last version but captures zones are so lame … the map is super tiny and short.
Trainyard : Uber short …
etc …

100% of the maps are boring and to short.
No excitment, no big rush, no adrenaline, no fun, no space, no routes, no doors, no choices, etc …

next map will be a cube I suppose.

(Erkin31) #29

Canary Warf: Even for the last version “underground”. I found that secondary objectives are great on this map. On the last objective, both second objectives are important to win.

for those, who is familiar with creative work (or hobby). like design or song writing. you know situations, when you just stuck with a riff and you cannot move forward for very long time. in these situations you have to just drop the riff, and start from scratch with a new one. i like to believe that in these situations your inspiration refuses to continue with current not-so-good material, tellling that you can do better.

(k0k0nat) #31

So… I have been creative my whole life in university :3

Drink… don’t move forward… dates for the exams appear online… ATTAARRCCCCKKK.

What if Extraction is just a project at university? :OO

long gone are the times, when video games were very close to art. Silent Hill, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, Half Life etc.

When i first played ETQW i had a blast - it was so inventive and humorous and exciting - i literally spoke like Strogg for 2 years!! =))
thats why i still have hopes for the guys behind that awesome game (though it did have problems - mostly because of idtech4)

(shaftz0r) #33

its improved ALOT. people are are just being silly

^ lots of this ^ i just cant handle playing the same maps that we’ve been playing for the past 6 months + not to mention that i drastically prefered them when they were considered “too long”. ****, the last half of trainyard was amazeballs, and i enjoyed attacking church on white chapel personally.

I love RTCW and ET but I hated ETQW… Also hated Brink…

I liked xT before they nerfed SAW and especially before they nerfed Phoenix… I didnt lag as much back then and the gun play felt a lot better… I liked the blaa art back then and mercs were easier to see…

Sometime simpler is better! I really hope they figure this out soon…

Give me 3 dinking while strafing hard to the left with 3 or 4 body shots for a death… Moving while shooting blows, unless you want a BF3 game.

Did rlrlr max spread in ET? I thought it was bullets shoot?

Insane how people can post nonsense like saying straight up this game was better year ago… Yeah they made many dumb changes, like allow every class to do every objective, but they improved many things as well. And besides the points that got worse, some things are still bad - but overall there is no way you can say this game is worse then it was a year ago. Maybe if you dislike all the good changes, but that´s not the case I think, it´s just typing nonsense. Especially if you argue with specific mercs being nerfed lol.

For everyone who is looking forward to the upcoming changes, I wouldn´t be too excited. Knowing SD, and seeing how the different development stages have been aproached so far, this game will be even upon release in a state that other games would call early beta, then rebalanced and retweaked (by allowing the community to develop own mods and maps) after it´s almost dead and then the big wondering why the game wasn´t succesfull will begin. Of course it will be the bad ET and ET:QW who influenced this “modern game” in a bad way. You read it here first.

I assume the name is down to trademarks with the new Dirty Bomb movie…

I was also hoping that you would be at E3 and so would like to test the build out with us before you took it in a few weeks.

(BrightIs) #37

I think they are going to do a release of about 10 maps for us to play, with new customisation and gameplay.

(k0k0nat) #38

dont be silly :frowning:

not at all… lol…
I never played the old White Chapel.

As a YouTube content creator I am just as much interested in how a map is to watch as well as play…
The old White Chapel is without a doubt more fun to watch.
