Something is about to happen...

(PixelTwitch) #1

You know when you get that feeling that something big is about to happen…
Well I have been having that feeling about Extraction for the last couple of days…

Reasons…
Hardly anyone playing the game the last few days…
No post on the recent update…
Load testing…
Focus testing…
The site being remade…
A recent sprint video talking about customisation coming to the weapons next month (3 months ago)

AND NOW!!!
The first activity on the Extraction Facebook page in 6 months… Updated the banner…

I would be amazed if something big does not happen by Saturday!
I believe it could even be as big as full reset, in game currency, weapon customisation and 25,000 beta keys…

totally just a guess but hey
We can dream right?

Yeah, I was so excited to see something in FB about Extraction… and then I realized it´s just the banner. It even looks kinda blurry, low quality… like a fanpage, but not an official page… meh ^^
To be honest, I am waiting for updates too, but for sure not for beta keys. I would prefere to polish the game as much as possible, before giving out beta keys again. Even tho it´s just beta, I don´t want to see too many potential players wasted for nothing.

I sure hope so

I know right exciting…

I agree that I do not feel that now on todays build is the right time to hand out any keys… the retention would be sooo low and publicity sooo bad that it could finish of the game… However I can imagine them maybe getting to a point where they at least lift the NDA and let a hand full of people in (maybe via expensive founders packs again).

Also the Facebook thing looking low quality… thats a facebook thing… it hates gradients.

(onYn) #5

Well, I hope they neither release more beta keys (founder packs okay, if the extra money makes them work faster :P) nor lift the NDA. I think both will do more harm then help.

I hope something big comes. I hope the game improves a lot otherwise i wont be bothered to download 3+ gb patch again. Currently for me the game is not worth the download time. :frowning:

After several months of inactivity, just declaring we are still here!

(BomBaKlaK) #8

meh … they still don’t know how to name this game …
the facebook page is about Dirty bomb and there is some extraction name after …

Maybe one day they decide what to do with this game

The name is different by geographic region.

(BomBaKlaK) #11

This is just stupid …

(Smooth) #12

I wouldn’t hype yourselves up regarding an update this week, also the name situation will be clarified before we go to a larger audience

(Bangtastic) #13

The prophecy is saying there will be new heroes joining the battlefield and something big is happening. Hmm I think there will be turtle javelin , maybe a first shop pass since the game is going to be open beta this year, I doubt they call their milestones sprint for no reason. But again I think there will be rather small updates as usual.

(Loffy) #14

You’re onto something defintely, PixelTwitch. The development progressed steadily for months, then suddenly we heard about a relaunch of the web site, banners, logos etc. A namechange. And, also, the cc testers appeared, and we all had to play just stopwatch games on a very limited number of maps. Then relatively long periods of almost silence. And now, back to the good old name. Perhaps there is some movement now… under the surface  I am anticipating “stuff” to happen. (I do not know what that is though.) Or maybe it is just my hopes. Well, only time will tell…

(BomBaKlaK) #15

Let see what’s happen, but since now over a year of testing I don’t have anymore hopes.

(k1ruaa) #16

Same here, I stopped hoping and stopped playing. Game is the same than 1 year ago, regarding the gun play aka the most important thing in a FPS. I won’t download anything until then their is something new regarding gunplay and as I said I am not hoping for much.

(Kl3ppy) #17

But 1 year ago, I thought: Wow, the game is cool, makes fun (there were some bugs, but it was an alpha, so no prob). Now I think, meh, doesnt make fun anymore, can we get back the version we had 1 year ago?

(MrFunkyFunk) #18

Feels like good ol’ regular DB/Xt testing to me: communication process, updates & testing pace, active testers numbers, etc. Same as when I stopped back in december, positive point is that we’re back on SD forums

I wouldn’t expect much.

You’re going to be called a silly nostalgic for saying that.
But yes, the game was way more fun one+ year ago and not just because of the “novelty” feeling of getting a new obj fast paced shooter.

(Erkin31) #19

Yes :frowning: The changes which broke a lot of thing for me are the classless objectives and small maps.

Anyway, now I just hope they will change the maps and give to us a way to move faster with the long jump.

(Glottis-3D) #20

yes. i agree - a year ago this game was close to awesome.
then it gone wrong and more wrong, until it became unplayable for me.
then it became slightly better. and slightly more better. but nowhere near to initial state.

what hurt me the most is maps being very weak, and SD for several patches did everything to NOT fix the maps. As long as walljumping appeared and some other movement stuff the maps went to waiting chamber for obvious reasons - movement is very important for map design. but it doesnt take away, that maps are very weak. for more than a year. and only one map is nice. whitechapel.
