Some mod ideas

Hi,

umpf, thought I had already an idea thread.
But couldn’t find it.

Some ideas I’m thinking about:

  • [li]survival / invasion
    [/li]Maps and configuration / wayponit / bot files for FritzBot (maybe Omni-Bot) that allows to play as human team against AI-controlled enemies.
    Additional mods: Resurrection Skins for the Axis-(AI)-players.
    [li]“Experiment IX” (aka “HL2: Source: The Hidden” for “W:ET”)
    [/li]Just played some rounds of “The Hidden” today.
    Very intense.
    Would also fit the RTCW universe.
    Axis made some experiments with PoW’s …
    [li]Commander Mod
    [/li]Placing waypoints for the team.
    Similar to “Bani’s Mod” for RTCW (The Commanding Officer).
    [li]A clientside fantasy mod that changes sounds, graphics, animations, weapons … but not the gameplay / without changing the sourcecode.
    [/li]Advantage: Could be played with every available mod.
    [li]Napoleonic Wars (aka “HL2: Source: Battlegounds 2” for “W:ET”)
    [/li]May be American Civil War or American War of Independance.
    I love those one shot with really loooooooooong reload weapons of “Battlegrounds”.

May be some inspiration for other modders.

I thought about a singleplayer Mod realized with bots. Only a few ui changes to start a campaign quick and some server/sample cfgs. And i thought about an extended etmain/ui with buddies, favourites (in the main menu, so 1 click would be enough), a config selection (save/load config, edit), color/music changes and maybe a new intro (Very short, only a few seconds, maybe a cool slide/fade in of main menu background).

Who will be axis? And what thompson? And what MG42 ?! And they’ll have nades? hehe…

Why not posting some modideas?
May be someone has aditional ideas etc.
That’s evolution.

Not sure about the scoped weapons and the MG42.
But I think the rest could be done with magical spells.

i always loved the idea of an American Revolutionary War Era game (could be any country really, but during that era). Gameplay would be significantly different than the bulk of shooters. Not quick empty a clip and reload. Make your shots count!

Horror/Survival games are fun, perhaps one set in the aforementioned era?

What about a Lovecraftian/Cthulhu Mythos inspired mod? AI controlled enemies, psychic hallucinations, weird voices, a plague of innsufficient firepower… This would likely be mode suitable for a single player experience, or perhaps a co-op game. Large teams would break the atmosphere created in the stories. An approach similar to America’s Army might work, where both teams see themselves as ‘The Good Guys’. Maybe even more than two team? Each team has 1-2 players, and from that team’s perspective, everyone else is allied against them.

Hmm. ET with more partys would be fun. You could add different classes, so the teams have to work together. We’ve got skins already.

Nice idea, but you need a lot of input for that to add a lot of complementary upgrades…

The skills you can choose from should exclude each other.
Spontaneous idea after seeing a screenshot from the Empires mod for HL2:Source.
So one could choose “faster reload” OR “higher accuracy” (for example).
Or “health regeneration” OR “faster chargebar regeneration” (for example for medics).

What I meant is that an upgrade may suit a player’s style, but it should not unbalance the game…

afaik this is a original mod idea for gameplay

each player starts on there own team. represented by a colour and skins would have to be used to clearly show what team each player is on

when someone is killed they join the team of the player who killed them and change to there colours

killing a player gains you a point
when you die you lose a point

when the time runs out or all player are converted to one team the player with the most points is the winner. or a number of the worst players a knocked out and the next round begins untill only 1st 2nd and 3rd places remain

My idea for a new mod:

Make the damage that bullets do more realistic.

-1 headshot is 1 kill (when not wearing a helmet or shot in the face)
-2 body shots is 1 kill
-1 sniper head shot = 1 kill + gib
-1 sniper body shot (garand or k43) = 1 kill
-MG42 should be able to make headshots, 1 headshot = 1 kill + gib
-1 MG42 body shot = 1 kill
-being shot in your leg makes you run slower and you cant sprint.
-being shot in you arm makes your crosshair sway more.
-allied grenade is a frag grenade zo it should blast fragments.
-Panzerfaust explosion should be reduced to something near the grenade now

etc etc.

panther i see ur mod is kinda based around make the attackers more powerful and make it harder to fight back if you dont get first shot? is it not already hard enough?

Panther, those settings are somewhat implemented in FalckonET.
If it wasn’t for some weird spread settings, the one who shoots first can rule the game.

Well, that is how it is in real life is it??
It’s not normal that when you attack a medic in his back he just turns around ands shoots you without any problem. =/
