And it attacks so fast that if target is stationary, anybody can get 6 hits if he wants. Plus, if anybody stands there behind enemy with knife out and gets the grey “Stab Me” icon, you’ll do mega-damage. (Because hitboxs are completely screwed up, this might not always work)
-K43 kills with one shot if scoped and hits the head at any level.
Nope. It does 100 hitpoints, which is quite different from a kill if the target has battlesense or is a medic.
Make knife instant killer for covops from the beginning. At lvl4 give him the gift of spying (able to read the enemy’s teamchat)
That would be bad. If you want level4 to be a better gift, there are other possibilities. However note that level4 of most skills isn’t supposed to be super-powerful. Level4 heavyweap and level4 fieldops are both worse than the level1 and 2 versions of that skill.
I was going around my home base as I was defending, a fellow with a german uniform dives up from nowhere and starts looking around, I check my map and don’t see him on it. I immideatly kill him.
It is true that disguise is so easy to figure out that it’s nearly useless against a good player. Compass checking is a more minor disadvantage than name-popup, wrong weapon, or wrong-way testing.
Remove covops binoculars. Any player will recieve lvl1 in battle sense pretty soon so it does not hurt.
That would hurt the game majorly. It’s an important design principle that XP cannot be too important- lack of XP can’t stop anyone from performing all the fundamental abilities of his class (even if he has to wait for more charging time between doing them, or the total damage is reduced).
If anyone joins a game and spawns as Covert Ops, he should be able to instantly start scanning for mines. Period.
It’s hard enough to convince newbie coverts to put down their ineffective sniper rifles and check for mines a little bit… if they don’t always have the power to detect mines, it will be even more impossible to teach them. Reducing the ability to spot mines will make the game further biased towards the defending team.
I was strolling around in my disguise, it was fine when behind enemy lines but then when I tried to get home to resupply I got killed. By the enemy - no but by my own team!
The standard procedure here is to press V6 a few times before coming around the corner to your teammates. However, I feel the CovertOps class would be much more useful if they had some other way to automatically prevent getting TKed- a special marker showing up on the compass, or over his head, or something. A CovertOps running around in disguise is often not only risking his own life from TKs, but also hurting everyone on his team, making them waste ammo or reaction time. (If there are few people on the team, you can all join a fireteam, which will give you a permanent warning sign)
Make it possiblle to drop the uniform without inflicting damage to the enemy.
This is already possible. Damaging the enemy has zero relationship to losing the uniform. Shooting in view of the enemy, or shooting a non-silent weapon will take off your clothes. So just unscrew the silencer from your pistol and squeeze the trigger if you wanna get naked.
Note that firing non-silenced bullets is a common technique amoung CovertOps pointwhores. Every time your team kills an enemy, shoot a bullet to remove your disguise and then change into a new uniform. Gives you 5 XP each time, and you’re barely doing anything helpful. Or if you kill 3 enemy at once, take clothes from ALL of them for 15 XP. (This really has to be changed!!)
Make M1 Garand more stable and give it the possibility to reload before empty clip.
No, they can’t allow the garand to reload in the middle. That would be too physically weird. Historically, it took hours in a shop to reload a garand clip.
Two fixes are possible: Give you MORE clips for the garand. More starting clips, and one more clip from each ammo box. Also let it change clips faster than K43. (This might not balance it out totally, but would make the Garand not so obviously worse)
The easier fix to be assured of balancing is to give Allies a rifle weapon functionally identical to K43. Just call it the “Enfield”, not a “Garand”, and the change would be possible.
(Note that this would be more realistic, as silenced Enfields really existed. I’ve never heard of a silent garand. I think the bullets are too fast for silencers to work)
