And who would you vote for in the presidential elections?
So who did you vote for in the primary elections?
The primaries have not reached Gotham as of yet. The person I would vote for is definitely a NY’er and one that does not appeal to the lowest common denominator, and by that I mean someone who is progressive, insightful, and atleast does some good for the world and not instigate problems, racial and class divisiveness, or garners support from known bigoted/hateful organisations or persons that would want the world to be pre-Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, post-war Germany.
My political views are moderate for the most part, and I tend to be fiscally conservativish and socially in the middle. I promote science and advancement any day of the week, but don’t think people should be put under the bus for their beliefs, views, or conditioning growing up. In terms of marriage, I view it as just between a man and a woman, but will not deny a gay person who is in a monogamous union their right to call it whatever they want or the nature of the relationship itself. I also support therapeutic cloning and support all forms of stem cell research, including fetal, as based on science a human is not truly alive until it has the basics of a brain, i.e. brain-stem. I don’t believe life begins at conception, so support abortion rights until that brain is formed. If it’s late term abortion, then I am totally against that, unless of course there is a medical complication or similar reason. It is truly sad that some believe that a rape victim should be forced to carry the child of their molester.
As you can see my views do not fit with any of the current candidates so finding the perfect one is always a challenge. That being said, I grew up in happier times under a president known as Bill, so that may be an indicator as to where the direction I go is.
I’m not registered red or blue, so I didn’t vote in the primaries.
Besides, this election is the choice between a screwdriver in my eye and coal poker up the ass. All the candidates suck dick.

And Bernie?
null
I like Bernie. I disagree with Bernie, but at least he’s honest and not a shill or a total nutcase.
He’s the shiniest turd.
From a distance, it seems like the only three candidates that matter are:
- A bigoted jerk who has shown time and time again that he doesn’t know a thing about what’s going on, and effectively doesn’t say anything insightful in any of his speeches.
- Someone whose campaign has been financed by all the wrong companies, and can’t possibly be in the best interest of the working class.
And then there’s Bernie, whose ideas are aligned with how we do things here in Western/Northern Europe, and been doing so quite successfully. He knows how things should be, but I fear that Congress is going to block his every move anyway, as it has been with Obama. He’s too far ahead of America’s time.
Still, it’s one big IQ test and the world is watching. Weird to see our darkest thoughts about America manifesting itself this successfully.
Niinistö… oh wait that was here in Finland and it was 4 or so years ago.
All this talk of politics reminded me of this little gem from way back, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IrE6FMpai8
I cringe and simultaneously face-palm knowing that they are from my city.
Look, I really don’t give too much of a fuck as I don’t have to live in your silly excuse of a free nation, but if you actually make Trump president you might just trigger the apocalypse.
If you could not, that’d be fucking great.
I’ve decided to go Clinton, not that she’s a good candidate, but everyone kind of sucks. It’s sad to see the Republican party butcher whatever moderate past it had, but the ridiculous swing towards the deep end kind of makes Clinton the only choice to me.
Bernie is adorable in that he wants a more liberal future for the US but tries to label it in all the wrong ways and doesn’t seem to quite understand the finer aspect of budgeting for his big plans.

I’ll be damned, I just played a round with you like 2 minutes ago.
Since I cant vote, I’ll give my opinion on things. Bernie Sanders, cool guy, but he is a communist, this is a capitalist country, and his ideas as to far from reality, I mean free college? Anyone who knows a bit about economics can tell you why communism/his ideas cant work. Clinton? The person who let our ambassador die and left top secret emails on her computer for anyone to take? Donald Trump? Not having any poltical experience, I see why many people don’t accept him. The current trend is hate him, cause he said something relating to walls ands Mexicans “RACIST”. Yet he works in construction and many workers are Hispanic, why would anyone do that? How could he hate Hispanic, that would hurt his business. He wants to keep out illegal Mexicans/Hispanics.
The age of McCarthyism (a communist witch-hunt essentially) has long been dead.
Bernie’s a socialist democrat, not a communist. Communism takes the ideals of socialism to the far extreme and negates or diminishes the tenants of capitalism and free trade. On the other end of the extreme spectrum, there is Fascism, which is shockingly close to some of Trump’s rhetoric thus far. See the thing is, capitalism and socialism are not perfect. They are ideals and ideas, and systems that govern nations develop from said perceived ideals. If we stick to one without seeing the merits of the other, we are likely to fail, i.e. great recession. A balance must be struck that keeps capitalism the main from of governance but ideas from socialism are definitely needed. I suggest you look up the New Deal enacted by then president Franklin D. Roosevelt. Social Security was created from that, and I can assure that is not capitalism.
Look at the first-world nations like New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and wait for it…Canada! Socialist principals help these countries and their welfare system take care of the citizens. You see a government’s job is to serve people, not the other way around (here’s looking at you congress). If you ever wondered why the citizens of those countries outlined seem happier, my suggestion is to look up how their government is taking care of them and why they are so well off.
I don’t see why free college is a bad thing, with all the waste we spend on things not related to the well-being of our own country, I’d rather have smarter people with better insight to rationalise a situation and make the best judgement thereof, and not be hampered by an economic burden.
Bernie, Hilliary, and the Trump are all from my location, so I am well acquainted with each, and even before Trump’s rise to power, most NY’ers you meet will tell you he is a quack with an ego to match his overcompensation. If former mayor Micheal Bloomberg, a former Republican, ran for office, I’d probably vote for him, despite disagreeing with some of his decisions in NY, but guess what, we are one of the safest cities with low crime compared to the size of our population due to the laws he set forth, and cleaner as well as healthier.
You are entitled to your views, and I respect that, but remember never to get brainwashed and look at all sources, including history, makeup, and structure of something before you fall victim to a politician’s rhetoric. Case in point, there are people stupid enough to think the Earth is flat, and yes people really do still think that. I use to have a one-tracked mind in my youth as well, but I had an epiphany with the realization “adult’s make mistakes and are not perfect”, and that changed my thinking to seeking knowledge on my own and making a decision based on collective data, experience, and objectivity.
This is the most retarded thing Ive ever read today even this week
What wrong with free college ? Its established in most part of Europe

And not exactly the poor part of Europe either. I’m from the Netherlands, a country that has a fairly extensive social welfare state. There are various programmes that ensure that nobody gets left behind, and that nobody will reach poverty in the same way the rest of the world has it.
in the eyes of many Europeans, Americans are thick as hell, and Sanders is the only promising candidate to fix the mess that is 'murica. But hey, if you guys don’t want him, send him over. He’s a saint among our people already.
@KnightDemon Nicely said, I think your state will have the final say in who becomes the Republican nominee. Anyways communism and socialism are close enough to call them the same, The soviet union and cuba are the 2 examples. Fasicsm would never be accepted in the US, it just would get blocked out, Donald Trump thinks the current president is just to weak along with the other candidates. He speaks the truth to a certain degree and many Americans feel the same way, and wants to restore relations with Russia. @Jesus Well college is paid because what pays the books, teachers, housing etc. The US is in debt, I don’t think allowing free college would help but that is my opinion. So what if Europe has it, Europe and the US are 2 separate places. Try comparing it to Canada. @Matuno The Netherlands is a great country, good system too. I would try atleast watching some interviews on both CNN and Fox with Trump The more he is given attention the more he wins, he has spent the least amount of money campaigning while at the same time having the most. Just imagine he would have, he would be far ahead in my opinion, but take what you need for what I just wrote.
