So who did you vote for in the primary elections?

(Jesus) #21

If you watch the Fox no wonder you can say things like free college is bad and communist. This is litteraly the worst TV channel possibly existing in the US

(darlingClaymore) #22

Amazing elaboration, by your logic cnn is trash because they bash republicans. You don’t seem to understand cnn is left winged and fox is right winged.

You need to stop talking about politics. You’re trying to play Einstein but I need point out that everything you type is a huge disservice to the people you represent. The pure simple-mindedness of your arguments actually makes me concerned about you.

How do you make these claims? Sweden, socialist country - low unemployment rates, proficient education system, booming industry (way f*cking better than the US), and not to mention, the highest living standards on Earth.

This is exactly why you need to shut up ASAP. You’ve got no idea at all about what you’re saying.

Honestly, you’ve got the whole world against you and no one to back you up but your fellow shoddy Trump supporters and you still manage to spread the bullsh*t that gets spoon-fed to you - it takes an elevated level of ignorance to do that.

(darlingClaymore) #24

You are smoking something, Sweden is a limited monarchy, with parliament like England. All you do is put filler junk, you address nothing and write as vaguely as humanly possible. I can continue to talk about politics as I want in off topic as long as it is still in the region of Elections/Candidates.

If you think its Sweden, you are wrong, its acutally Norway if you are basing it on HMI. FYI Norway is a monarchy, so by your logic you would agree with a monarch.

Whole world against me? You mean the liberals? If the whole world is against me my opinion is invalid?

You’re right, my bad, the highest living standard is Norway, I was misinformed - you are correct, yet incorrect at the same time. Sweden is indeed a monarchy - your point is? Despite the monarchy in Sweden, the Nordic Model (put in a little Wikipedia reference for you, you’re welcome) is functioning exceptionally well, and it’s the exact same for Norway and many other Scandinavian countries. Sanders, as a democratic socialist is striving for something similar like the Nordic Model so calm the f*ck down matey, your country isn’t gonna turn into North Korea.

No, not just the liberals, I’m talking whole countries laughing at that fool. If you pulled your head out of the ‘America is the only country’ mindset, you’d see it - and no, the world against you doesn’t mean that your argument is invalid, but more appropriately, the whole world is against you because your argument is a joke - I mean really? Your best answer to ‘Europe has successfully established free-college’ is:

So according to you, different geographical locations means that you can’t install the same governing systems? Yeah, no - that’s not how it works.

I’m going to remain civil in this discussion, but it’s hard to see someone so young be conditioned to such ignorance, so don’t be offended by what I have to say, as I think this is a valuable learning experience.

@darlingClaymore , sorry to break it to ya buddy, but the world is much more complicated and diverse than merely labeling something as liberal and conservative, or black and white. Don’t be perturbed by what these guys are writing, they just wan’t you to be a bit more open-minded and see how thing’s work where they are from. They are happy and are not complaining about the lifestyle they have achieved due to the government or country they reside in, and bickering without constructive feedback does not offer solutions, case in point our current congress. So just keep your mind open and see things from their perspective. You can be a conservative, you can vote for whomever you want, as that is how democracy works. That being said, are you really thinking for yourself on these issues you have presented, or is it due to where you are from and what you are taught via the media or household? I understand that you may have been taught this idea or that idea, and you are accustomed to having those views. You are young, that much is certain, but be careful how you word things, as contrary to the popular addage, “sticks and stones may break you, but words can never harm you”, words can and do.

Recently President Obama was present at baseball game in an actual communist country, Cuba. I saw many so-called conservatives criticize that action, but as I mentioned earlier, the world is not black and white. That little act is called diplomacy, and that is the job of the president. You may hate or disavow Obama all you wan’t, but that small act of attending a baseball game may have changed the future history of the U.S. for the better, wait and see.
Republican conservative President Nixon, opened the U.S. to Communist China in 1972 by visiting there. The results from that were very positive, and you can read that up yourself how it benefitted us to this day. Another example is the joint space program between Russia and the United States, that would never happen if we spouted hateful rhetoric at them. This was even during the day’s of the Soviet-Union, you know, the o.g. communists.

Going back to the ‘words’ adage, Trump by his own account, is a loose-cannon when it comes to words, and here is something I need you to understand; every time he says something, guess what, fellow Americans overseas get targeted and peoples lives are put in jeopardy, due to words. It’s basic psychology, you keep poking something, eventually it will poke back. The term for that is “inciting” or “instigating”. It’s the same concept of not telling a person who is depressed to jump off a bridge, because in a clouded state of mind that can unfortunately occur, because of ‘words’. It’s not about being politically correct, it’s about being smart. Extend a hand, share some tea, watch a baseball game together, now we are getting somewhere.

I’m going to teach you a new word today, cultural-relativism. Your homework is to read up on that and understand it. If you can get around to actually understanding that well, your outlook will change, and do not be afraid of thinking differently than your parents, community, or friends, as true success lies in those who achieve wisdom vs naivete.

Trump tried his hardest to say President Obama was born somewhere else, it went onto the point of ridiculousness. He’s been President for 8 years, and it’s fairly obvious he was born in Hawaii given all empirical data. To lighten the mood, I shall leave this funny clip from a few years ago, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8TwRmX6zs4

It would never turn into north korea, I just believe it would not work. Now that I read about it socialism in very controlled amounts could work. The only thing that bothers me the most, is illegal immigration and what has been to done to heavy industry. And the oil pipes from Canada. I believe only Donald Trump being a business man would bring back the industry and start constructing the oil pipes. Which according to British scholars would slowly remove our debt.

In defense of Trumps words, he chooses them quite carefully acutally. But he does like the media for making his life easier by covering everything he does, so he doesn’t have to pay.

Democratic socialism works in New Zealand, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Canada. They all have low populations, easier to control.

That was a nice clip, I don’t agree with Obama as a president but he sure is funny.

(Matuno) #28

@darlingClaymore can you rationalise why socialism “wouldn’t work” on a large nation like America?

(darlingClaymore) #29

Just know, socialism works in smaller less populous countries because they can be more effectively directed, and its not like they are fully socialist. In the US it would not work because, ironically people wouldn’t work it would be taking from the rich and splitting it among the masses, why should we take money from those who work for it and give it to those that work less. Socialism is just a stupid idea. Those work get to eat. These countries also have their problems sorted out, the US is very young, and in debt.

(Matuno) #30

Aha.
Here in the Netherlands, social facilities are paid for by the central government, and handled by your municipality. The government creates the rules and guidelines, and the municipality (county?) enforces them.

Whenever you need something, the town office will decide whether or not you are eligible. When you are granted benefits, you are also assigned to a social worker who will stay in touch and help you with whatever you need to find a job.

This is easily scalable and the facilities already exist.

Of course, you have responsibilities. You must show that you make serious efforts to find a new job, and you may be assigned to civil service to ‘stay on the move’ and not get too comfortable.

Socialism is not an idea, it is reality in much of the Western world for a good reason.

And you’re grossly mistaken on “Those work get to eat”. I’m not sure if you’ve ever worked, but you’re going to find that it’s a rotten world out there. Good luck with getting by on minimum wage!

Somehow this was derailed from candidates to socialism , then to me getting by on minimum wage. Truly how liberals work. If you want to continue arguing send PM's I don't want to clutter the off topic any more

Oh shut your face - you have as much a role as any of us in the topics brought up here so don’t start poking your sht at ‘liberals’. When you start spouting political make-believe, buckle the fck up and expect to be corrected.
