Got on brink today after about a week (been busy) and i found that no matter what gametype i tried i couldn’t even get one game with someone else on either team. Makes me wonder, What happened to the people playing. Also i made sure availability was set to my rank or higher so thats not the issue.
So where did all the players go?I(360)
Same place all the ps3 players went I guess?
Both consoles seem to be having difficulty in this regard. PC seems to be pretty much the place to be.
If I could afford a new gaming pc I’d be playing Brink there right now.
because its a broken game and the promised patch isnt out yet, i’m trading mine in tommorow, while its still worth a little something.
not to sound mean, but maybe they’re playing games that WORK, like L.A. Noire?
Didn’t the same stuff happen when ET:Quake Wars got released on the 360? First one or two weeks full games, then something new comes along and bam! we’re talking Ghost Town here. Just my two cents, though.

I thought as much. When they released PC fixes as fast as they did without mentioning the problems on consoles until later on made a red-flag in my head go up. Seems SD went ahead and decided to put their eggs in one platform rather than focusing on all of them equally. Thanks alot. You release a broken game then don’t make steps to sustain the game on any platform other than PC.
since i posted i did indeed get one full game on the big team playlist. Maybe after the patch is released i’ll enjoy full games on at least one playlist. And forgive my ignorance but what region is GMT? Don’t know the abbreviations of the top of my head.
English timezone, its actually BST at the moment to be pedantic. The lag situation seems to be improving too in the last few days, still the odd stutter here and there but much improved. Guess the matchmaking has worked out who the good hosts are a bit better. I pull it occasionally which is nice.
Sometimes it still will just not find a game with more than 2 guys in though, I stick with it but so many people bail instead of joining in and filling the room up, stupid ADDers.
When people realized that the game didn’t offer a party system, adequate graphics on console and stable connectivity… they returned the game in exchange for another. A lot of people felt cheated by SD and didn’t felt they deserved to wait one month for a playble online multiplayer experience which is supposed to be the whole point of playing Brink.
Sad reality, but with any luck, Brink is going to get patched properly and a phenomenon similar to R6 Vegas 2 will take place and Brink in a few months, when the game will drop around $20… a lot of people will get it and crowd the Online.
Ah yes rainbow, still loads of people and clans playing that game, and it was a horrbile lagfest for months.
The futures bright!
To console players: I apologize if this sounds stupid but I have heard it from many people including a “Brink correspondent”. Usually people in consoles (Xbox360, Ps3) will go on to new games much faster than the PC counterparts. They see a problem and alot of them will switch to some new game which has less problems.
The reason is consoles nowadays are getting more attention than ever and more games released that people are willing to play.
I find this kind of sad considering you guys are paying $60 dollars per game while the PC folks can find deals on steam, d2d, etc. (I will admit though that im not sure if there is places that offer console games for a smaller price because im simply not a console gamer).
I love the game, but to see the above as something wrong is just silly. It’s every person’s right to move on to another game. If SD doesn’t want people to move on to other games they could gasp release a game without so many problems.
It’s hard to believe they didn’t test the game extensively, and if they did test the game extensively they should have been fully aware of the game’s flaws. If they released the game knowing full well of its flaws, there’s absolutely no reason why the game shouldn’t have been sold at $29.99 on launch.
You shouldn’t make consumers pay full retail price for a game when it’s not a full retail game yet. Future patches should not count towards current pricing. Everyone who bought the game at launch paid $60 to be a beta tester for a game that may or may not have any online staying power thanks to the shoddy launch. Congrats all.

I completely agree. If there is more patches/dlc content it should be free.

It’s not that bad, games will survive on 360 as long as they are good, but a lot do just go trotting back to call of duty. I can’t see why this won’t build up a nice player base.
Not sure about you, but I played all day with loads of people and full teams (Big Team) 16 players even in Stopwatch. It is good to make Brink friends as well to boost your player pool. Remember that Brink is a brand new IP and is just starting to grow a community.
Blows my mind the expectations that people have with such a new IP.
Sorry wolf, but the game being a new IP is not an excuse for the extreme lack of players.
When all some of us want is to play a game with more than 2-3 players active, you can hardly call this an unrealistic expectation. Especially when ha have exhausted all resource.
It is true the PC version is probably doing the best, currently 3400 players playing which means that there is always a low ping server to play in.
- dedicated servers

I have played with full 16 players since launch. Not sure what console you use. I am on xbox. And I was playing last night with 16 people. Crazy, right? So sorry if you can’t play with other people. Do you have Brink players on your friend’s list? I have added at least 10-15 Brink players. My xbox friends list was full of inactive accounts, so I deleted them. Make some friends, that helps. Or play Big Team or Competitive. Competitive is 5v5 all the time. 95% of competitive mode is full rooms. Having a mic helps because there are people, especially at night looking for people who use a mic. Stop hating on the game. It is not true that there are only bots to play with. I think if you select Standard Mode or Advanced, you are guaranteed to play with mostly bots! Stop selecting those modes if you want to play where the people play. You have to know that some gamers do not read the manual or check the menu, and do not know that there are other modes besides Standard. You know that this is true. Don’t be one of those who keep the game on default.

Go to the Bethesda Forum and sign up. There is a friend’s list for PSN on there. You should join with those guys.
