So this morning I saw what a team full of Naders can do and it ain't pretty.

(Old Man) #1

They basically managed to lock us down the attacking team on on the first stage of Chapel. Unlike air strikes the Nader’s grenades don’t have long cooldown and the grenade spam actually worked unlike air strike, artillery and laser.

Something for SD to think about.

Do you know about Rhino and Aura for example??

Do you know about Rhino and Aura for example??

Rhino dies to 2 direct nade hits even with a healing station healing him. And healing stations are useless because they die to 1 nades splash damage.

And yes on most maps at some point a full nader-team or 1 medic + x naders is really strong, barricade on bridge, wall on terminal, fan controls and going downstairs on underground, emps on chapel and data cores on trainyard.

With all the mercs being free this weekend the balance will go out the window. Its great for the new players but for the people that have been playing for a while it is pretty aggravating.

This assumes every nade hits Rhino, and before he kills them. Then even if he dies, Aura can get the revive in. I think the overall point is there’s always a counter, and it’s not always down to the fact the team has stacked the same merc, just that they’re outperforming the team getting camped.

Not sure I understand your logic here. If more mercs are free, variety should be more common. When you limit new players to the 3 free rotation mercs, that’s when you get teams stacked full of one or two mercs - if more (or all) of the mercs are available, they’ll be spread better. I’ve found a greater variety of mercs in my matches this weekend than I have in a long time.

We had that problem with Rhinos, literally 2-3 at a time. But it was stupid because the team never pushed, they’d just sit somewhere and wait. Tackling Rhinos is about overwhelming them with numbers.

(cornJester) #7

What is there for them to think about? Merc spam will always be imbalanced and you cannot balance individual mercs around an entire team using them, that would be bad for normal use. The thing about an entire team spamming naders, they don’t have medics or fire support.

I like that Nader can damage the EV well enough, it makes me feel more useful on defense as a combat class. It’s something that gives her an advantage over Fragger with his 2 nades only and this promotes variety in the advantages of mercs.

l2p issue.

They are OP when it comes to medium distance.

Every Nader should know that CQC and long distance is enemy of Nader, because:

A)Nades can’t hit far away
B)They can hit the character which shoot that nades.

I have that situation many times(just look on earlier free rotations with her on it) and you shall

see that there is always a result.

They can if you aim up, and then fire a granade, giving it a long arc of flight.

There is a limit of how far away you can arc it due to the timer otherwise it just explodes in midair.

You would think that was the case, but all you see is rhino nader and sparks. Rarely seen anyone using skyhammer or Arty so ammo is impossible to get sometimes.

2(15 direct hit damage + 75 splash damage) = 180 < 200. It requires three direct hits. And even landing ONE is difficult.

I first started playing DB when Nader was in free rotation. It was a fun ride.
(Which ended up with me unlocking Nader a week ago… She’s so fun.)

(avidCow) #17

You mean they’ll gravitate to one or two classes only?

I find your post a bit ironic. There is no real “balance” when most of the mercs are behind a paywall. Free weekend is the closest thing to getting a real sense of how things work and where mercs really fit in relation to the whole.

(AnimeDude) #18

you mean when there’s an entire team of naders they can spam you with grenades? wow.
you mean when there’s an entire team of skyhammers they can spam you with airstrikes? wow.
you mean when there’s an entire team of rhinos they can spam you with mini-guns? wow.

I love the noobtube. it reks.

You can chuck any nade/ability pretty far. Hell, i can chuck the vassili sensor quite a distance.
