My ideas:
- The format should be 6on6
Although I’m a promod player, I’ve played several 12on12 matches. Due to the massive lag, it is almost impossible to find out the winner of such a match. You can’t play properly there and show the opponents your real skills.
My second point is, that a 6on6 is much more easier to manage, even for beginner clans.
12on12 would be just spam and chaos. (Ever tryed to manage 6 players? Not that easy as you may think)
We all know the situation of QW already, but the OCB Cup was a big success!
But if you will stick to the “country idea” there will appear different problems.
Who is allowed to play for one country and why? Who decides the players? Are there enough players from the Chirstmas Island?
Better solution would be to get clans into the cup. There are still many fun clans (however you call them) out there, who would never get the chance to play something like a “World/ Nation Cup”. Furthermore there won’t be problems to get enough players, because you can take randomly some.
- Same conditions for all clans
Ok, let me explain that particularly.
In the first stage of the matches, all clans should play exactly the same maps. For example: On Sunday the 13.37.11 all participating clans must play “Valley” and “Volcano” and for decider “Volcano” again. This gives you the advantage to compare the clans on the first match day, to see their strengths and their weaknesses on the first maps. In addition no clan can have excuses and say: "We would have performed better on Slipgate because of… whine whine " or “Team XY had just luck, that they played Salvage vs team Random”
If there are matches among EU and NA players, it is fair to play one map on a EU and the other map on a NA server. Server for decider map depends on tossing a coin
- Maps should be announced at least 5 days before the match
- Vanilla mode with stopwatch and no rules are ok
Many fun clans like this mode.
- What about 2 custom maps? I would like to see “Maridia” and “Radar”
Some Cups in the past showed, that these maps are alright to play.
- There should be always an admin on the server
For the missing pause function or to clarify problems and so on.
In the end I got some questions:
What do you mean with “3 or 4 ladies within the teams” ? “15 points a winner”, what about the points of a draw?
If you can really win copies of Brink, the fun is “over”
