So is there going to be

(Diecast5) #1

So is there going to be just seage map, or is there going to be CTF maps as well?

(Dazzamac) #2

whats a seage map? Is that anything like a Siege map? Wolf:ET was neither, it was an objective map, in many cases part of an attack was capturing spawn points or stealing an objective and running somewhere with it if that what ye mean. I would assume QW will follow the same strategy so I don’t think CTF in its classical sense of go to their spawn, nick the flag and go back to yer own will be there but there will probably be aspects similar to it.

What’s a seige map? Is that anything like a siege map? :tapir:

Kindly do not edit quotes from me for your own personal enjoyment  :stuck_out_tongue:

A siege map is, A siege is a military blockade of a city or fortress with the intent of conquering by force or attrition, often accompanied by an assault, in map form.

You totally ruined the previous quotes. :frowning: </3

Edit: ET:QW may have an objective map where you have to capture the ‘documents’/important part (think radar/goldrush) that may be like a CFT in the sense that one team has to bring the object to their base/area from the enemy base/area. But, it will be like a one sided CTF.

I don’t think ET:QW will support a real life equivalent of siege gameplay. You will have the enemy assaulting fortified positions, and they may use the SSM or similar to break down the enemies defenses. The purpose of a siege many times was to simply starve the enemy into submission, or cut off reinforcements while ‘bleeding’ the enemy to death. I don’t think that would prove to be a popular gameplay mode.

And Gringo: your definition was taken off Wikipedia. J00 FAILZ!!!

U caught me out, I hang my head in shame. I contest that i totally ruin the previous quotes. I suggest that i merely ruined them.

(SniperSteve) #9

Fair enough…

FWIW (and what I think the original poster might be referring to), “Siege” is a Jedi Knight 3: Jedi Academy gametype. I quoted the readme from on of the siege maps and it sounds exactly like Stopwatch.

Time Limits:

  • 20 Minute Initial Time Limit
  • If Rebel forces succeed before the time limit is reached, the teams switch sides
(Rebels become Imperials and vice versa)
  • Once the new teams are formed, the new Rebel team must complete the same objectives
in the same or less amount of time than the first Rebel team did.

Dont u mean siege  Sorry im gonna go sit in a dark hole somewhere!

(DarkangelUK) #12

So stopwatch then… yes!

I heard the sage maps would have both purple sage (Salvia leucophylla) and common sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata). Silver sagebrush (Artemisia cana) is not confirmed.

Oh… siege. Never mind.

(SniperSteve) #14

I grow sage in my garden.

(mortis) #15

What about rosemary and thyme?

(Nail) #16

combine all three for poultry, leave out the sage for fish and pork

(Diecast5) #17

Yes I ment Siege map’s sorry I did not spell it right the first time . from what I have seen in the demo’s that the GDF has to go into the Strogg area and attack , than the Strogg have to Defend there base. So it is Siege map . I am hopen for other mode’s out for the game like .
CTF
Death match
Arena
lake rabbit
Siege map.

(kamikazee) #18

Probably most of those game-modes will be added by mods.

(nUllSkillZ) #19

What’s “lake rabbit”?

(Salteh) #20

Maybe it’s a bit like Q3F’s Got Duck? map. :s
