Can I still earn XP and is XP needed to level up anything as far as game play is concerned or was XP always just for bragging rights?

XP is needed to rank up, stats are really on tracked locally, XP is just pointless, rank is pointless.

XP is also needed to unlock stuff. Everything that you unlocked is reset on a new campaign.
