[quote=“Hipolipolopigus;8497”]From today’s missions alone, I can get 1800 credits; 600 each. Factoring in the credits from a few matches to meet the requirements of these each day, it’d only take a few days playing those few matches a day to get a new merc.
So no, the game isn’t ripping you off. You simply do not understand the game mechanics.
Edit: One full Stopwatch match gave me 12000 credits. Well damn.

“YOU FEEL DIFFERENTLY THAN ME, YOU SIMPLY DON’T UNDERSTAND THE MECHANICS”
How patronizing. Yes, you can unlock a new character after 16 straight days of doing literally every single mission. Probably a bit less when you factor in the credits you’ll earn playing all those games. So two weeks. One of today’s missions is two win four Obj games. One can assume that trend will continue. So expect to play at least four games, every day, for two weeks straight, to unlock ONE new character.
Let’s say each game lasts 10 minutes, which has been my average experience. That’s 40 minutes every day, assuming you win every game, but let’s round it to 60 assuming you’re not going to do that. That’s at least an hour a day, every day, for a week, only playing the characters and game modes that the missions specify each day. And who says the character missions will always be one of the free characters? Who says the game won’t charge you with the much harder task of earning 14,000 Support XP rather than Combat XP?
OP understands the mechanics. The game just doesn’t output value often enough proportional to how fun it is to play for OP (and for me as well, and I imagine many other people too). And I’m pretty sure that 12k credits was a one-time bonus we all got. I received 85 credits just now for decisively winning an Obj match. There’s no way I stick with this game if that’s how painfully slow it is going to be to rank up. Dirty Bomb is just another game that discourages experimentation. Wait or pay up. Boring. I have no doubts this game doesn’t last long with this business model. Sure, people will still be playing it in small numbers a while from now, but hey - people are still playing Blacklight Retribution, too.
Players should never be this profoundly distant from unlocking something, anything permanent that they have to show for their time played.
