Nah… that’s OK… It means each Culprit card is like one of nine snowflakes!
so for anyone wanting to see the obsidian skin
I think we can’t change the outcome despite the community expressed their desire on several threads on these forums. Anyway…
Lessons learned for players: Think twice before you purchase anything in the future as everything in this game is subject to change, even in game store products.
Lessons learned for SD: When introducing new items in the in-game store - all details must be available and set before an item goes to the store.
@RazielWarmonic Just wanted to say thanks Raz for trying to keep us up to date on things when you can. Mistakes happen. I still love you for it.
I just hope every one can grow from this experience and achieve even better things.
I don’t even fully blame Raziel for it, can’t exactly say this is the first time people from NX and SD have given out the wrong information to the public, but goes to show out of touch people from NX and SD are with their community, which is quite frankly quite disturbing. Whoever thought RNG on a paid obsidian card with absolutely no way to trade away, to reroll or any way whatsoever to get rid of, was a good idea deserves a huge slap right in the face. I honestly expected a guaranteed Hochfir loadout just because I didn’t think they would ever potentially give away yet another shotgun loadout to the actually paying customers who could already have a Proxy obsidian with both the Remburg and the Hollunds, but still no Hochfir. And granted, some people probably wanted another shotgun loadout, so give us a choice between the guns at least. At the end of the day we are the ones paying their bills.

I will address everyone here, since this is honestly a bigger issue than I thought it was going to be.
Yes, I did say it was fixed at the time, however now that I look over everything there was a breakdown of communication on my part.
I apologize for this, it was my misunderstanding. I thought the Obsidian was going to be fixed based on previous Obsidians when that simply was not the case .
I again, apologize, and you can #BlameRaz all you want, because it is honestly my fault.

OK, it changed, but you could, like, write it somewhere? This is slap in the face to those who bought the obsidian case…
I would like to genuinely ask how it is a “slap in the face” to people who bought the Obsidian cases, though? We never announced which card it was going to be, so you had no guarantee you were getting a card you prefer. You have a better chance of getting a card with at least the primary you enjoy most with this system in my opinion.
EDIT 5/18/2016 @ 2:50pm PDT: Shoe did post that it was not confirmed whether or not the case was going to be set, or a random of 9 after I did. You can view that post
Its irrelevant you said that after i bought it, So you basically changed the thing I bought after I paid it either way its totally not right
I really didn’t want to sound mean, but next time, it would really help to let people know what they are actually buying. In my opinion, it’s not the best idea to put RNG everywhere in the game.
And about those loadouts - yes, there is a higher chance of receiving loadout with “better” weapon and/or augments, but it works the other way too.
On the other hand, rest of the patch looks awesome and I have only good things to say about it.
Why THE FUCK didn’t they tell us this? I never saw any fine print about this before I purchased it… I saw the pictures and got excited it was going to be Hochfir Proxy like the Humble Bundle and special events cards. It’s ALWAYS Hochfir Proxy and fixed loadouts.
I NEVER play with Shotguns. I DESPISE them.
Give me my fucking money back.

This is fucking hilarious.
Just opened both my cases and got fucked dry and raw right up my ass by two shotgun loadouts. Thanks for the theft, won’t be seeing a dime from me anymore, Splash Damage.
Apparently Aimee not only shot her in the Shoulder and used the SNITCH to blind her in one eye but also she Branded the ReV logo onto her neck.
Oh and where is her sling or shoulder wound hmmmnnn?

We agree, we are going to try and be more clear on these issues in the future. Looking back, it wasn’t the best decision that we weren’t clear from the start.
Why THE @$!# didn’t they tell us this? I never saw any fine print about this before I purchased it… I saw the pictures and got excited it was going to be Hochfir Proxy like the Humble Bundle and special events cards. It’s ALWAYS Hochfir Proxy and fixed loadouts.

We never said it was going to be Hochfir if it was fixed. That is still community speculation. I don’t get the rage around this specifically.
I’ll put it plainly: I unknowingly purchased an RNG 1-9 case for $15. If I had known it was going to be an RNG 1-9 Obsidian Proxy case, I would’ve been able to use my gigantic human brain and figured out that the odds were that the flagrant amount of RNG in this game would fuck me over and give me a shotgun.
THEREFORE, I would not have BOUGHT it. But when I BOUGHT the case, and even from what I recall on the page to purchase it, there was no information anywhere saying it was going to be a gamble, and for all I knew at the time of purchase, it was going to be a fixed loadout. The community consensus at the time, from info given by SD, was that it was going to be fixed and not RNG 1-9 trash, which would be obvious given it was 15 bloody dollars, right?
Which lead me to believe that it was a case that would follow suit with all the others and be a Hochfir. Yes, it’s community speculation, but it’s a very educated guess seeing as most special edition or event cards for Proxy, just taking Humble Bundle for example, are some Hochfir loadout.
But that’s not the problem so much as if I had known it was an RNG case when Proxy was the culprit, I would’ve never bought it at all.
I get with a F2P business model, development is 90% about how to make a game profitable. I understand that my not knowing it would be RNG benefited SD. I just was gullible. I never would have even made the purchase at all from the beginning if I knew it’d be a 1-9 RNG style of case. A Hochfir indeed was not confirmed, but from my experience with special cards for Proxy, this is almost always the case for her. I took an educated risk there willingly, but never would’ve taken it at all had I known it was an RNG case when the culprit was PROXY. Because that would’ve just been stupid to pay 15$ when odds were I’d get a shotgun. If Stoker had won, it would’ve been fine. But shotgun-Hochfir Proxy are such different playstyles that it fucking matters a lot more what you get.
tl;dr never would’ve bought an RNG Proxy Obsidian case if I’d known it was an RNG Proxy case because it’d be stupid because shotguns.

That makes more sense. I’m sorry you got a shotgun over Hochfir, but like I have said in a couple other threads, we are working on a way to make this more tolerable in the future, since we understand that Special Edition and more rare cards from the 1st Edition are not as viable or as preferable as the new 2nd Edition cards. Again, it’s a big concern with us moving forward, so it’s definitely a long term goal of ours.
I realize this isn’t a short term fix, and it still sucks you got a loadout you don’t like, but hopefully that info helps a little. :\
Why do people want the SMG so bad? Shotguns are a lot better (unless the map is Chapel).
Same with PDP, I don’t understand why would anyone ever want a PDP over a MOA or FEL-IX. Auto snipers suck, bolt action can insta kill anybody but Rhino and Thunder (which are not mercs you see often)

Just different playstyles.
Some people don’t really like the up and close combat that the shotgun forces you into.

I appreciate your understanding and nice response. I know that the flame wars are very difficult for you guys to wade through in the forums and I don’t envy your job. But to say my vegetables are steamed is an understatement. I’ve got those “dead sea amounts of salt”. I’ll get over it of course, I’ve been playing with the shotgun trying to adapt to a new suicide death montage play-style (cause I don’t want 15$ to go to waste), but everyone’s still fairly fired up about it.
I just hope there’s less communication faux pas and more upfront transparency in the next event. lol
