Turtle is an upcoming engineer but… no one knows what he’s like or what he does.
Maybe he has a ballistic shield that he carries on his back? only turtle like thing i can think of really.
He drops a linear wall that can be used as cover. Grenades, etc. can still go over the top of it and it has a health total.

i think this forum and the general community fear the word explosive far too much thanks to fragger (pre “nerf”) .

(watsyurdeal) #43

To be fair, it’s actually from Titanfall that makes me worry about Fletcher.

Satchels…everywhere

(mOist) #44

@majesticClue sadly i never got to play TF (pc is rubbish and have a ps4) i hope fletcher dosnt become op but he has a fine balance between god and lindsay lohan on a acid trip.

The TF satchels had a huge radius though… Fletchers sticky bombs dont.

My problem with explosives isn’t that they’re op (except for Fragger) but that the devs don’t seem to be able to think of anything else then stuff exploding. Take a look at the available merc abilities:
Nades, Nadelauncher, Airstrike, Artystrike, Mines and now stickies…
everything is a variation of “boom” which is kind of lazy and uncreative in my opinion.
I haven’t played Kira yet, but I heard that she has some kind of orbital laser? That sounds fun. Why does everyone have to go the easy way of character design? Think of something new. Something that wasn’t there before. Something that would really change the way the games is played. Something that people see and think “WTF is that? How can…? How does…? I HAVE to try this!” instead of “Hrm, it explodes… could be useful.”
But as it is right now it feels like there’s a bunch of Michael Bay Fans in the SD Team
If they keep going the way of “You want it to be awesome? Put explosives on it” the maps will be more like Dresden '45 then London 20XX.

I feel this is not a sci-fi type of game, so they cant go to crazy with the weapons.

I hear complaining without out actually giving 1 real suggestion that they should add… If you have an idea post it.

 • A little attack drone that follows you and shoots enemies
 • Deployable AA-Laser that nutralises Rockets/Bombs/maybe even grenades and stuff
 • Micowave gun to paralize enemies
 • Repair bots to get objectives done the sneaky way
 • Field glasses that are able to mark enemies for a short period of time
 • A device that triggers a weapon malfunction so you can force the opponent to reload or switch weapons
 • Depolyable cover
 • Mortars with mustard gas, for that little WW1 feeling
 • Poisen darts or viles to slow down and damage the enemy
 • Magnetic burst to throw back stuff like the pyro airblash form tf2

I don’t know man. I’m not a gamedesigner, but I’m sure there is still good stuff possible (apart from explosives) in the Dirty Bomb Univers.

No hate, my dear Dirty Bomber

(Szakalot) #49

some good ideas there @ThaiSan

(umberInlet) #50

@ThaiSan I’m not sure if I would approve the Repair Bots idea, but everything else seems fine.

(APRenpsy) #51

Some unique weapons/abilities from the usual bullets/explosives would be nice.

I’m talking -

Pneumatic Weapons
Electrical Shock Tasers
Flak Cannons - Like Shotguns Only It Fires A Slug Round That Bursts After A Certain Distance
Heat/Noise Suppression - Makes Vision Go Wobbly
Shield Rushing - GRO Assault Ability Basically
Crowd Control Abilities like Thunders
Deployable Grapple Hooks

Being able to hit nades back at enemies if you have a bat equipped. I’m actually extremely serious about this one.

(transferring) #52

Looking forward to having enough coins to purchase Fletcher, quite often I’d play demo in TF2.

(_Sniff_) #53

Can I point out to the people who are saying “Too much explosives” that the company name of this game is “Splash Damage”. It’s sort of implied.
