People really need to get over explosives, I keep hearing complaints about nades, mines, etc, and yet…with the exception of Fragger and his cooked grenades, explosives are pretty easy to deal with.
Mines, if you know they are running a Proxy, or you know common places Mines tend to be, shoot them or run around them. Their range isn’t that large honestly, same thing with Nader, unless she lands direct hits those nades are easy to dodge. Learn how to strafe, keep at a good distance so it’s hard for her to hit you with directs, then once she wastes her volley, shoot her down, 100 hp, it shouldn’t be that hard.
Flethcher doesn’t look that bad honestly, the bomb need to actually stick to you for them to be any real threat directly, and as far as traps go, well, same thing with Proxy. If it’s as bad as Demo Man in TF2, or the Satchels in Titanfall, it won’t be hard to fix, make em require that they stick to something before exploding.

Did anyone complained about explosives here ?
The op didn’t seem thrilled about there being another merc with explosives, maybe I just interpreted it wrong. But the wording gives off a feeling of “uggh”.

just disappointed that fletcher is added, he really doesn’t add much to the game right now imo and isn’t that interesting of a merc
would much rather see red eye, kira, rhino, phantom, phoenix, rhino, some mercs that i think should’ve been added before fletcher, would have affected gameplay a lot more
right now, with fletcher included, there are 6 mercs with explosive abilities (only 4 don’t have any explosives), feels quite boring to just have explosive merc 1 to 6 when there are a lot of original abilities not used atm

It’s prob because Medics are so strong right now on Defense, you get 3 med reviving each other and keeping team mates alive and buffed it’s pretty hard to win on offense.
But then again…I am in heavy opinion that people keep thinking this is tdm, because nobody wants to get on the God damn point.
A 3rd engineer instead of a 2nd heavy or 2nd sniper is an odd choice. Especially after Nader was just added which did add a ton of spam to the game. This will add even more spam. Hopefully the grenades aren’t very powerful when he’s released and will be used more to wound rather than outright kill people going through a door.
This game does not need more spam. Tons of explosives everywhere doesn’t make a game fun or skillful for me personally and it becomes more RNG than anything else. Which is exactly why I can’t stand TF2.
To be fair, another Sniper wouldn’t really be much of a good thing either…cause then everyone would sit, and not get on the point.
Or the Heavy will get added, and nobody will play him, because they can’t get to the point…

I’ve played Q3 for 15 years now so I’m used to rockets and the TF2 rockets really aren’t that bad. It’s the demoman spam that I can’t stand. Being able to set things up and randomly kill people without them having much of a chance makes it feel like your dancing in a mine field rather than playing a competitive FPS. Due to the weakening of her nades, Nader hasn’t been that bad. Not nearly like what she was before the move to Steam.
I’m hoping Fletcher’s nades are also pretty weak causing them to be useful when used skillfully but not something people run around with on server getting giggle kills with.

Unless you plop them right on a person they won’t oneshot. However they do make fantastic traps if you throw a couple down.
Well after watching the vids the recharge time on the bombs is insanely fast, hope it’s slowed down a lot when Fletcher comes out.
