Small freeze each 3 seconds - W:ET

(Donnovan) #1

Hi!

I have Windows 7 64 Bitas, Nvidia GTX 560 Ti Video Card and Quad Core Q9550+ Cpu.

I’m trying to run the game but i have small freezes each 3 seconds, from the menu to the in game fight, the game freezes religiously at each 3 seconds for some miliseconds, and them unfreeze with the player in the position ahead from were the freeze started (its like the engine does not freeze but the update on screen freezes like if in Echo off).

Anyone can helpme? This kills gameplay!

Thankyou!

That card should not be a problem. Did it only start when you upgraded the card by itself?

Did you set the compatibility for 7?

  • Install harelkins full installer (only if you want 2.60b) from etkey.org
  • Right-click on your et shortcut, and click on compatibility and check “run in compatibility mode for”, select windows XP SP3, then check “run as administrator” at bottom.

See if that helps.

Force off the Threaded Optimization in NVidia Panel, and VSync as well if still acting like this.

you can also try turning off anti-aliasing

The vertical sync impacts openGL games, try changing that value if all else fails

That’s cool, since ET has no anti-aliasing at all  I have it forced on by NVidia Panel on 4x, not a massive FPS drop, and look quite better, with anisotropic filtering also through Panel

Change to “Multi-display/mixed -GPU acceleration” to"Single display performance mode" in Nvidia drivers (under “manage 3d settings”).

Thanks. I turned off “Segmented Optimization” on Nvidia Control Panel and the freeze gone away.

“Segmented Optimization” is the translation for “Otimização Segmentada”, and i believe its the “Threaded Optimization” Mateos was talking about.

Thanks a lot for all the help!

Now to play some Battery! :c)
