Small but nifty scripts

Don’t laugh, but I came up with a minute script which keeps tracers off while shooting, so it won’t distract, and on while you’re not, so that you can see where people are shooting from. I think this is very handy even if you got some superb headphones.

set tracerson "+attack; b_tracers 0; seta vstr tracersoff"
set tracersoff "-attack; b_tracers 1; seta vstr tracerson"
bind mouse1 "+vstr tracerson tracersoff"

Also, here’s one which makes the crosshair smaller while crouching; it’s much more likely you’ll be shooting on long distances then, and in close fights you won’t be crouching anyway.

set crouchon "+movedown; cg_crosshairsize 38; seta vstr crouchoff"
set crouchoff "-movedown; cg_crosshairsize 46; seta vstr crouchon"
bind mouse2 "+vstr crouchon crouchoff"

I just wanted to make a thread about the gameplay of ET for once.

If you got some clever ones yourself, please post them here.

The “seta vstr” bit on the end of each of those isn’t necessary (nor indeed does it do anything).

set tracerson "+attack; b_tracers 0"
set tracersoff "-attack; b_tracers 1
bind mouse1 +vstr tracerson tracersoff

However there’s an advantage to having tracers on whilst shooting as they only show when you miss, plus they’re an aid to shooting anyway so I really can’t see how this script would help.

if you do b_tracers 2 it only shows the other peoples tracers :open_mouth: thats maybe even better than your script

Dang. Thank you.
