Skyhammers...

I get pissed off everytime I see skyhammers in my team, because I know someone can give ammo very fast way, and I totally know i will end up going to those points of maps with ammo, kilometer away to get stupid ammo, cause if skyhammers throws ammo (if!), he throws only for himself… What have i tried to get ammo from skyhammer: shooting him with secondary weapon, melee[ing] him, starring at him, and all those things doesn’t work.
Either they should get larger notifications when someone needs ammo, or they should yell: ammo for me! and not ammo for you! because it isnt ****** for me!!!
Don’t get me wrong there are good skyhammers which I respect, but it’s more likely ill get cobalt card from regular case than meet good skyhammer :confused:

Hello, how are you? I am a good ‘Skyhammer’ - how is that cobalt card from a regular case?

  1. I spam out all four ammo packs whenever I spawn.
  2. Later, if I can, I will throw out an ammo pack even if they have not asked for one.

It amounts to thousands and thousands of support experience points. It is almost comparable to soloing the objectives. (While being considerably easier most of the time.)

This might be moot, but since you don’t say you’ve tried it: use quickchat. Hit V 2 2 to put “Ammo!” in chat, as well as highlighting to the support mercs that you need it. Alternatively, use voice coms.

Beyond that, I hear ya - I’ve had more luck getting ammo from enemy support mercs than my own in some games. Though that is kind of satisfying. :wink:

Something else that bothers me is when everyone on my team goes Skyhammer, I was in an 8 v 8 yesterday and their were 7 Skyhammers and I was the only medic. Were overflowing with airstrikes but not a single one was dropping ammo and it took us ages to do anything objective related and I was constantly running around as the only medic in a desperate attempt to try and give health and revive my team.

In short, just because Skyhammer is always free, it never hurts to try a different class or actually drop ammo.

HAHAHA, I exaggerated it xD…
Anyway, I know, I play Kira lately so i don’t get in those kind of problems, and when I play Arty and Skyhammer, I also throw ammo packs (indeed lots of xp)…
But otherwise in last three days, those skyhammers frustrated me so I needed to write this post hahaha…

unfortunately skyhammer is one of the free characters, and best all around combatants, so of course a lot of new people use him. new people probably do not realize they should be dispensing ammo all the time, or understand the pain of being a fragger without any gunfood.

stabbing a new player in the face will probably just confuse him. I smoke a bunch of weed and remember when i was new giggling wondering why this person is stabbing me in the face mid match, what a wierdo.

usually if you ask quickly/nicely on voice chat by steam name and sometimes tell them to hit ‘e’ usually they figure it out pretty quick

Yeah forgot to mention that, sry… I fill up all the chat still nothing.

HAHAHA it’s true I also try to loot from enemy ammo supliers when I get a chance.

True that… I just place ammo station where it’s most needed for my team, and when I respawn, I quickly drop it there so anyone can fully supply themselves, later I choose good spot for teammates and myself, and don’t have any problems :slight_smile:

V-2-2 is a wonderful thing. If they aren’t reacting to that or some obvious front knifing and jumping, then they probably can’t aim to save their lives (let alone your’s) and are probably half useless regardless of how often they press E.

I still normally see plenty of Skyhammers that spam E to top everyone off on spawn and dump on health stations and teammates as much as possible.

Well…if you’re above min level 10, play on those servers. Sadly, we need more of those servers, we only have like 4 of them.

I had a person who played Skyhammer help me up 4 times last night…but never gave me ammo once despite asking with V22, team chat and voice chat (all nicely). I had a pretty good laugh at that.

Similarly, I hate some Sawbonez players who heal themselves but don’t bother to throw medpack to teammates.

A lot of them are clueless trash. lmao. My sniper partner is always having to beg for ammo, or chase Skyhammer’s around smacking them with his cricket bat trying to get them to throw down a pack.

The ammo crates are in much more risky places now, that it’s not as feasible as it once was to just book it and ammo up. Tsk.

I had a Bushwhacker putting his turrets backwards everywhere and he refused to do objectives. Always expect the worst when you see someone with only free mercs in their squad.

Need automatic icon over heads when people are low on ammo for every merc can than dispense bullets. Problem solved half-way.

That’s… actually… not a bad idea at all. Medics get a flashing ‘+’ indicator over players with low health. A low ammo indicator would actually be pretty sweet.
