Please? watch the same briefing for the same maps every. single. time is insane and make the game way more repetitive
Skip briefing vote?
That timeframe is used to load some things so even if you could turn it off you’d still be stuck waiting.
the game itself would end up looking worse, things would still be rendering while people are running around. Im not disagreeing with you that the breifing gets a bit repetitive but its moreso for its functional use that its important
Honestly I’d rather just have more pre-game time to shoot at each other like in ranked and whatnot.
After level 5 or so when you’ve seen all the map intros, I don’t see why you shouldn’t have the option to press space or whatever and skip the tutorial if your PC is good enough to handle it.
Even more annoying, I’ve had the tutorial sequence actually start later and keep going into the beginning of the match, so I end up spawning several seconds later than the rest of my team.
@Dropdown as @Kirays said it’s not there just to tell you what to do. it allows players to load in and for you to load their assets. If you could skip that all would happen is you’d be at spawn seeing some map assets and players spawn in slowly. This would be a little jarring and definitely break the 4th wall which is not an experience we’d like you to have.

Cant something be put in its place or randomize something else onto it
@stayfreshshoe couldnt we have the option to spawn earlier and skip the intro, maybe by console command, so it doesnt ruin the atmosphere for new players, but long time players can already spawn and run around in the not proper loaded map. I would prefer practicing jumps on a not fully loaded map over having to hear the briefing a gazillionth time.
You have to go through so many loading/signing in and waiting screens. Every bit of short cut would be greatly appreciated

This puzzles me, why theres a loading screen before the game start if the map didnt fully loaded?

Yeah, this is indeed strange. You are already on the map and all players and the entire map are already loaded and then you need the briefing screen to “hide” the loading of players and the map?

I rather have a long loading screen than a fast one and have to wait a hidden second loading

Not every player loads at the same speed though, and not every player sees loading assets as the end of the world. Having the option to skip it after a certain level would be great to satisfy those who’d rather mess around in a pregame even with assets still loading, or who have faster machines. And as for the people who find it immersion breaking, they can simply watch the tutorial as they always have.
It’s not like seeing unloaded textures will ruin the game for someone who’s already played hundreds of matches like most of us have. For new players sure, but for more experienced players it’s hardly an issue

That’s either you connecting to the server lobby, or the map being loaded by the server itself after the map is selected and players launch. You know this because if you join the game later on in the map you get that same map icon while loading into the lobby picker. Then you have 15 seconds before you can actually get in game after hitting lock-in because it loads all your data to everyone else and theirs to you.

I’d imagine that during loading all the assets are transferred to memory (while showing a loading screen) and after that there is a second phase where textures are applied, lightning is computed etc (while showing the mission briefing). The second phase cannot be stored on disk because it depends on your video settings.
Only potentially some map assets. It’s more the other players as in the map loading, you’re loading the map screen, you’re committing the map to memory. The players on the other hand, you need to load in their stuff, otherwise you get blue man and other issues.
Letting you run around longer while that is happening could make things confusing to players watching the intro. Here is a VO explaing what you do, but members of your and the enemy team are already running around on the objectives. Then you would need to be respawned will all cooldowns reset etc. for the 5 odd second pre-match timer.
While we understand it can be a bit tedious listening to the same thing over and over, this isn’t something we plan on changing. It may seem like a trivial thing to update, but the work that would be required to make this change is not. It would mean updating a lot of the player flow into a match which is no throwaway task. Sorry guys!

Can you guys atleast make some variations, chaging voices or camera angles?
it would make loading times even longer, just loading the additional assets involved
SD could add a mini game during loading, like Bayonetta’s combo practice. Maybe shooting at computer controlled bunny hopping shotgun Proxies?
