Similarities between QW and Q4

i was getting the same frames as ppl with 7800gtx at the time. the engine has horrible issues online. this is why i’m hoping it runs nothing like quake 4. i would get the same performance on 1600x1200 as 640x480, low graphics or high, so did everyone else. unless your comp was REALLY bad.

i played with my x700 at 1280x1024 and i had around 70fps at med graphics.
and quakewars shouldn’t be much different, so i think a video card upgrade til my next birthday is unneccecary.

Just using this as an example that there are people out there who would still like to be able to upgrade their AGP systems.

The only dx 10 cards are the 8xxx series from Nvidia right now, but ATI will be releasing theirs soon.

In regards to the FX/GF4 comparisons, a Geforce4 Ti4200 was roughly equal to a FX5600

and i hope there are more similiarities between rtcw and quakewars then quake4 and et… :expressionless:

Keep in mind that ETQW is essentially “Quake 0” with Enemy Territory style multiplayer gameplay. It’s ET in the Quake universe, so it’s probably reasonable to expect to see some strogg technologies in the game. I wouldn’t expect them to be identical to their Q4 counterparts.

there are no similarities between ETQW and Q4 execpt the name, weapons(names or even models) and strogg

you have an ISP problem I would bet, do some bandwith testing. I had the same problem when I first got doom3 and immediately thought it was my system, well it wasn’t it was my ISP. Got them to fix their line and I was in multiplay.

the 6800 is a good card and should do very well with Q4 in single or multi play.

ET:QW will not support DX10 - DX9 only

what would my ping have to do with my fps? my isp is fine btw. i could play bf2 fine with 80+ fps. same problem with my friend had a 4200+ with an x1900 at the time, we got about the same performance. there is a drastic difference in performance with quake 4 single and multi.
