Should we double the magazine sizes of the two LMGs?

Whenever I use the LMGs over the assault rifles for both Fragger or Thunder I’m always frustrated by how quickly the magazine runs dry, leaving me exposed with an incredibly long reload animation to go through before I can defend myself again. I believe that, despite them not having such a high DPS as the BR-16/Stark, the LMGs would actually have a reason to be used if they could maintain covering/suppressing fire for longer periods of time. Hence, their magazine sizes should both be doubled.

What are peoples’ opinions on this?

More.mag size would do barely anything toward them being more viable. They both really need better accuracy.

More ammo ? I wouldn’t mind. But a straight x2 upgrade might be a tad bit too much.

Increasing the magazine size would also, by default, increase the reserve ammo as well.

I think doubling may be a tad too much maybe and extra 20-25 rounds in the belt. Other than that they need some sort of buff to make them worth using, the auto and burst rifles are just waaaay better than the lmgs at this point

I agree a little bit of extra reserve ammo could be quite useful. Maybe a slight spread decrease as well. I honestly feel very confident using the guns, same as the burst rifles really, but if the bursts don’t get a slight nerf then a light buff would be nice to bring the LMGs up to par.

but just by 50 or so. i need 4 mags minimum, without extra mags. with extra mags 6. i already run way too fast out of 160 reserve ammo, nevermind just 85 without extra mags.

The way i look at it is, if there’s something i don’t use its because it’s weak or useless. I never touch the lmgs because they need a change absolutely.

Increasing the mag would be useful but a max range increase and accuracy boost would be much better, they should be a good midrange weapon tbh.

Ask if Magazine Warp is good.

Write down response with vicious intent to use it as proof as to doubled magazine size being a useless buff why LMGs should get x2 magazine size.

They’re fine as they are, just need an accuracy rework. I’ve said it before, and apparently people disagreed with me then, but LMGs are great at CQC and kind-of-but-not-okay at medium range, but terrible at anything beyond that. The only reason this has really been fine until now is that the LMGs belong to two mercs whose specialty is shock tactics and flanking, which tend to result in CQC and thus better effectiveness for the LMG they use.

The rate of fire and DPS of the MK46 rivals the Hochfir, but it has less accuracy and thus range. You’d also expect that a gun with a slow rate of fire like the K-121 would be more accurate, but it’s really not. In a 1v1 situation with no other variables, the burst and assault rifles will almost always win against an LMG because they can keep the LMG player at range with no way to return fire.

Magazine sizes for both are fine.
But I would like to see the MK getting a damage buff and maybe a small buff to the K-121.
Also give us Thunder K-121 instead of the AUG, it makes much more sense on him

Then the Spares augment goes meh. 55/165, 85/255 is very fine right now.

@ProfPlump I agree with increasing the size of their mag. They definitely deserve more mag size since every gun in this game reloads much faster than theoratical speed,

which is within 0.5sec~1.5sec. (Considering Drilled + Reload animation cancel)

But just like @Eox said just simply doubling the size is way too huge.

I think K-121 having 60 mag size and MK.46 with 100+ mag would be fine.’

If MK.46 is going to have 150 + mag, then it needs its 4.1 sec reload time back.

idk about the k121, but i am forced to run spares on my MK46 thunder, else i will run out of ammo way to soon, hence why i want more reserve ammo. i may never change out my Tough, Drilled, Spares card, but i miss having unshakeable.

I also use MA71 when there is hell a lot of Fletchers or Naders, and Focus help THUNDA a lot.

and yes, 85/85 is quite short on bullets right now but 100/100 default, 100/200 if supplied will be enough.

Well, what can we do. Gotta stick with MA42 all day until SD hear us…

But back to the origin of fast bullet usage is mainly because of wasted bullets(Super wide spread), and low 11 damage that’s same as KeK-10 and MP400.(Same reason why Hochfir’s bullet usage is high. 9 dmg = takes more bullets to kill)

That’s why I’m waiting conc/burst rifles nerf and buff of LMGs which can make them a REAL machine gun.

DB’s LMGs are really underpowered if you also consider other stats like weight and range.
