I like this idea, and I am certain we would want more options then just these two for the quick chat. Only problem is I don’t know if that audio is available for all of the mercs. It really depends if they can get the voice actors back in I think.
Otherwise they would just be text only quickchats.

That is the one and only problem, but maybe since they have so many dialog for each merc Splash could maybe scrounge up something.
It’s a nice idea, but I think U -> “A” or “B” -> Return, is quicker than V, then up to 3 number presses. But that’s just me I personally don’t mind, and normally just say A or B in team chat at the start of the round anyways.
I don’t know. You would press V-“number”-“number” for it. You can press U-A-Enter instead.
Damn, Faraleth wrote it already

It works well for calling “Medic” or “Ammo.”
The merc who cried support
The beginning of each round, where everyone does nothing for 10 seconds, there should be a vote/counter for people to put which way they are going.
Fake the handoff to A, throw it to B.
Would be nice for sure but even the good old text chat has no effect. You tell your teammates that enemy’s going to A, your team decides to defend B.
Once the bomb is planted, people either go to B or totally somewhere else. Eventually majority of the people find their way to A but they go there one by one against (almost) the whole enemy team.
Also, even when the bomb has been planted on A and you hear “bomb has been planted on site A”, people still go to site B and holy fuck do they get confused “where’s the bomb? it said the bomb has been planted but it’s not here!!! Well maybe it will show up if I stand here for a while”
Dying before enemy plants the bomb is sometimes totally worth it when you spectate these… “special” people.
As far as I can tell, the pubs that will actually escort the bomb will mob whichever way the bomb carrier is going (that moment when you try out Canal for the first time and you lead your team in a swirl across the map because you literally had no idea where anything was). The ones that just want to mess around will do their own thing anyway. I guess that means bomb carrier gets dibs on plant location, but that’s not the worst system ever.
Without some sort of official offline practice mode, newbies tend to not know where to go. I got lost bunch of times only to get killed.
I don’t know if defenders get fooled by faking going A, but really going to B. For example, the entire team goes A, but at the last second, the bomb carrier and 2 other members rush to B.
Yes there should be, but not like a lot of people will give a damn.
Worst thing is an AFK carrying the bomb
@Ye_Olde_Buttcheeks All set
Eh. Yo. V,#,# is probably no faster than U,B,Enter or U,A,Enter.
Usefull in comp but not in pubs i thik because most people then run around like chickens who lost their heads…
If there’s a way to chatbind, which I imagine there is in some way or another. I’d just make a chatbind for it. But them adding them has the advantage of you hearing some voice, people will pay more mind to the voice, for obvious reasons.
You can say primary and secondary objective with the V,6,4 (primary) // v,6,5 (secondary) // and that should be (A) = (Primary) // (B) = (Secondary) SO i cant see the problem
