Blast radius reduction would be a start, they are anti infantry mines so the are designed to take out the one guy that stands on it the second guy if he was holding hands with the first. Point being, getting these triple kills by throwing a mine at the feet of three people is stupid, you can barely do that with fragger these days and Fletcher you can forget about after his nerf. Proxy needs a nerf, it shouldn’t be a matter of fanboys tbh, if it needs adjusting then do so.
Should Proxy Mines be Nerfed?

[] Make the mines be motion sensitive (meaning if you speed is above x%, it goes off)
[] Allow them to be disarmed or removed by Engineers (interacting with it basically removes it safely)
[*] Allow mines to be placed on walls, and change the animation a bit.

Love the idea of the sensitive mines and also love the disarming idea, but not sure about the one with the wall. (but if i remember correctly in the weapon folder i think there is a file named “sticky_mine” or something like that, idk…)
I like number 2. Just by making that change would make a big difference on how annoying and frustrating it is playing against suicide Proxies. Also just with those 2 complaints, SD has plenty reasons to nerf her.
@Apofenas yeah and noob fletcher throwing stickies at the ground, dealing 60+ damage 3 times is okay.
woah woah… now were talking anti-personel mine?
because Mon-100 and Mon-200 is also anti-personel mines that packs 12kg explosive with added small fragmentation for that hand holders too.
tell me how a mine that big can only kill one guy. (130mm width with 434 mm of diameter.)
(its also very effective at blowing tank tracks because its a directional AP mine)
so what? you want proxy only have directional mine so it can only kill 1 person?
guess what.
people will complain on how OP it is being on the ground/corners, too small to see with laser like
M-Claymore mine.
its going to be the same fuggen thing. people will whine.
nope dont even start on saying its just a game. you brought this topics in.
I think that Proxy should be stronger as a defensive class, but at the same time I don’t want Proxy to have the gimmicky stuff where her mines have some retarded arming time attached to them.
Just make Proxy drop those mines without adding horizontal momentum, and boom, she’s never able to suicide plant again.
But before that happens Proxy needs an alternative ability that would make her as effective at defense as an AuraXRhino X-rated movie.
That combo is extremely easy to counter I don’t even want to talk about it.

well im actually never even try to not use it as defensive armanent.
but when im in a pinch, followed by a mob or even cornered by a mob, if i can throw it on the ground, and shoot it so they will stop following me, it would be great.
it defeats gankers that often travel in packs.
Other than increasing the volume/Disabling proxy from being able to shoot them the only thing I can think of is to make it a lil more fair is by simply allowing enemies to use proxy mines against her own team, they can shoot them and they will damage any enemy that is in the AoE.
This is coming from someone who plays proxy regulary & im not one of those cancer pancake delivery spammers w.e the term is. I prefer to make my enemies play an unsuspecting game of minesweeper instead, ingenious mine placement is far more hilarious than cheap fletcher like crutches…yes I said it…come at me brah.
I personally think the hit boxes on them that you can shoot need to be changed. There are so many times where I can see a mine but I simply can’t shoot it. Or I have to jump to shoot it and with spread on jumping it can be pretty frustrating.
I also think the explode time is a bit short and could be increased slightly so that people who see/hear a mine can safely explode it without taking massive damage/dying in many situations.

Volvo nerf plz” pillow castle So after some salty tears and thinking, what mines were reworked in such a way, that they can ONLY be planted when standing still/crouched ? This would combat pizza delivery/suicide proxy, since she wouldn’t be able to deploy them while rushing the objective. It would not be a problem of I dunno making an animation of proxy lying down the mine and twisting the middle part to “boot” it imho but I’m no game dev.
And to make them less powerful when being shot before priming, prime time should be 3s and each second, damage gets increased. So it would go like this
Prime animation->80%dmg->1s->90%dmg->1s->100%dmg->fully primed. (adjusted numbers, what do you think @LMuerteMan ? )

For me, the problem isn’t the fact that proxy can throw down mines and shoot them.
My issue is I can’t get rid of them, or get past them, WITHOUT shooting them. So I either hurt myself, or my allies in the process. Counter play is the issue here, not how Proxy uses them.

You know damn well that’s not the same thing.
A mine is a stationary thing, it is literally there to waste your time or area denial. The problem is that the only way to deal with it, is to basically risk hurting your team mates, which is bull crap.

you do not have to run any risks. you can see your teammates thru walls.
You’re ignoring my point, I’m trying to get rid of the mine without killing a team mate by accident, or trying to get rid of it without damaging myself.
And since Lock On is a thing now for Proxy long jumping past them doesn’t work so well anymore.
im not getting it: if you dont want to hurt teammates then wait for them to get out of there. if teammates ignore standing ontop of mines they deserve to be ignored
lock on is annoying indeed, id rather it wasnt on proxy (or instead, it would speed up self-arm time)
people dont understand that the battlefield is chaotic place.
you can shoot mines then your teammate dies, well thats tough luck. your teammate didnt see the mine.
i am 99% sure all the vets in DB will know and can hear the mines when they ecounter them.
(also, mine has extra hitbox to shoot safely)
