Every time I play as an Axis, and sometimes as an Ally, I watch Allies toss grenades and airstrikes, call artillery support, and fire panzers at a “live” tank. The allies want to kill that dirty nazi in the tank turret, I understand: I’ve done it myself, but shouldn’t it damage the tank… at least a little?
It seems very unrealistic to consider that Allied weapons are unable to damage their own vehicles. I know this game isn’t a simulator but it seems silly to call artillery strikes on a tank and have it emerge unscathed. Imagine playing on a server with FF off and watching as the Allies come rolling in under waves of airstrikes around their own vehicle. There should be some sort of penalty for blasting your own vehicles, maybe half or a quarter damage as usual?
I do understand that this may unbalance the gameplay of the maps involving vehicles. It seems like something that would need to be play tested or left solely as a setting that could be turned on or off… maybe even with a variable to determine the extent of damage an Ally could do to his / her own vehicle.
So, please tell me what you think… I want to know if anyone else has any feelings about this aspect of the game.
