[half off] why to make it sticky? it’d be fine jsut as a topic. [full off] and about that… i dont think there is any data about them, not even in the most scientific papers (*)… maybe only about german ones, but u’d have to dig archives for reports on production… speer was mostly responsible for that, as well as guderian for panzers especially from verylate42-early 43 as a buildup for kursk… and on allied side i dont think there was any care taken of that since they werent so desperate in need at least in the second half… they just produced what they could after the resonable judgement (soviets had many interesting prototypes, but t34 85 was chosen, as 100mm gun couldnt fit, and the other kind of 85mm gun was bulkier than the 1 used, and kv were a dead end, and t44 would require a completely new industry. on the british side, they wanted to fit the 17pdr (iirc, not sure about its fucking name lol, im absolutely noob in allied stuff) into everything they could but they couldnt except the firefly and another thing, the rest was wel… just made, i dont think they gave too much shit about productivity… all they needed was a gun which not useless against the newer german tanks, with some adequate armour. after they were presented the various models/prototypes/plans of each company and the arsenals, they ordered all and it was just produced just as fast as it could… it was only the germans (ok the americans too in regards of land vehicles and aircraft carriers, and british but the latter only in aeroplanes and ships) who put some systematic analysis and organisation, and serious struggles on war production (on 1 hand, on the other it was fucking chaos too, but nvm4now), as they had to. (in 1st half they werent on full war economy for populistic-political and for overconfident-political-military reasons; and they also had to mitigate the allied strategic bombing campaign’s effects.)
*: it is so scrace thing i fear u couldnt find any data even in the factories’ documentation itself lol, not to speak about how prohibitively hard would be getting this irl shit
but p.s., an idea, maybe u could use 2 data to make a third; how long it was produced, i.e. 42 sep to 43 nov, and how much were produced, ie. 456 pieces; then smart-divide it (i.e., taking off weekends, getting infos about gaps in production, or if it was produced in night shift and on weekends too, or anything u can think about which would affect the overall picture; and then when u got a number like for ex. 666 per day, them u could assume production wasnt constant so u could make an arbitrary guess that its between 633 and 699 then. or make a “reciproc” sry dont know term, so 1/666= 0.333777616101 day for 1 wehicle).
lets just make it lol, pegasus its up to u
i dont have too much useful link, tomtom7777 has to dig them up, so you left
and anyway i’d be too lazy for that and anyway i wouldnt want to be topic starter anyway, so x9
