Settings in enemy territory for basic dsl

(Milardo) #1

Hi,

My friend wants to have a lag free or stutter free experience when playing wolfenstein enemy territory. He has the express dsl package from at&t and using wireless. What settings can he change in enemy territory via the config files and which config file should he config?

Is he using Vista ? There is a known issue with Vista and wireless. With certain wireless adapters you get a lag spike every 60 seconds. Google “Vista antilag”. Worked for me

I had this issue in WinXP actually, where it would try and re-scan for wireless networks every minute or so, resulting in rather inconvenient lag spikes. Not sure if this is still an issue in the post-Service Pack world, though.

I doubt settings in ET can fix these problems, you will have to modify settings in the OS…

He should not use WLAN to play online, it’s as simple as that.

Re-install drivers, it solved for me.

Thanks for your replies, I just found out that there is a problem with my friend’s dsl connection seems not gettting anywhere near the speed of the dsl connection. Once that is fixed probably will have no problem playing the game.
