Welcome,
I am of Polish. Sorry for my bad English.

Is the server VPS Ltd. parameters:
2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 20GB HDD, 300GB TRANSFER FOR MONTH
will run the server 12 slots for ET?
It will be a separate server for files.

Yours.
Thank you for your help.

VPS are not good for server since it could be shared too depending on type of VPS. Also 2 Ghz processor doesn’t say much because if it’s atom processor then you might have lag.

More or less VPS sometimes provide 10Mb line and if other VPS on same machine are steaming, you will have massive lag.

I would say if you already purchased VPS try it and if not host 12 slot server with gsp. Would costly on 12$ appx and I am sure good 1GB RAM VPS are not cheap.

300gb is nothing in a month. I would also recommend gameservers.com.

@tjimboo
So you think the transfer is not enough? As I wrote, it will be a separate server for files. (fastdownload)

@hellreturn
2 GHz processor and 1GB of RAM is guaranteed parameters. There will be less.
Ping to the server is at the level of 50-53 ms. 100 Mb network. Debian.
The processor is probably the Intel i5, or any AMD. Now I do not know.

In general, if the VPS will give advice?

if no downloads is intended from the server that should be more than enough for a server like that. even with downloads tbh 300gb is like 300000 MB and average size of maps is around 10 MB so thats a lot of maps, the server itself dosent use much for the contact with players and pb etc etc

I will not go in detail how webhosting companies run VPS but I tell you that they are out to make profit.

1GB RAM is fine. Processor can be good too if you know it’s core i5 and you will have full cores available to you.

Most of the VPS are OpenVZ and XEN VPS are expensive.

100Mb network is never 100Mb. It’s marketing FUD by almost all host. It’s always upto 100Mb and you can even get 15Mb or 30Mb. More or less on VPS, that 100Mb port is shared. So if on same machine if another user is running website with streaming movies, consider you will have lag.

More or less you are not sure about processor or even VPS type. You can always try and if it doesn’t work purchase server from GSP :stuck_out_tongue:
