How about I give you my 4 servers, you’ll be able to reproduce a disconnect issue 4 times every hour or less.

I don’t understand how it could be so hard to reproduce a glitch experienced by the ENTIRE PC community.

Don’t any of you have an actual pc server to beta test all this stuff?

Unless you fix the server crash problem first, the DLC your working on will be useless,coz their will be no servers left for anybody to play it on!

If there are test servers needed, just ask the question certainly many here who lends.
You can borrow my anytime.
A pain to keep running with constant crashes.

I have been following these forums from Day 1, we have been having the exact say problems with our servers in South Africa and it doesnt seem that the SP Dev team understand how frustrating these shutdowns are, in the above message from AO, he says they managed to reproduce 1 disconnect, how can this be when the entire world is having these problems, maybe get out of your testing bed and try hosting servers remotely and connecting from other than your Office/Development team office. It is quite ridiculous tbh, the hype around this game was huge, we have so many players in SA that made websites to promote the game so that it takes off in a big way in South Africa and 2/3 weeks down the line we cant even play it online. I have to logon literally 5 times a day to my servers to restart them and then they stay online anywhere between 5min - 2hrs. The issues are the exact same for everyone, why cant you fix it. I remember when TF2 had issues, valve release updates almost immediately, by the next day you back up and running, what is so hard about this, why release an incomplete game? Did the head developer maybe call it quits half way through the project and you guys were so clueless that you decided to release the game in Hope? seriously, sort this out, at this stage everyone in SA are probably wanting to throw away the game.

mine goes off too every couple of hours, but only if players were on. When its empty it stays on much longer. Its really quite anoying and I dont have the time to check every few minutes if the server is still on. Would be very nice if this bug could be fixed.

If there are any staff from SD visiting these forums today I would suggest that you get either Paul wedgewood or Richard Ham to explain to your server admin community how and when they plan to fix the server problems.

We have not only paid for the game but we are also paying to keep servers for your game Brink online.
This is our hard earned cash that you guys seem to think is yours to throw down the toilet.

Your server module is broken and it needs fixing urgently…Please let us have a timeframe or you will be seeing your game servers disappear very very quickly…

why we should continue to support your product with our money, time and effort to simply be ignored when we ask for help?

Some info to help the dev’s out here, it isn’t the server that is crashing, its the maps,the server is still active after the “DISCONNECTED” message, but the map isn’t running.
Ive been running a server from home and when the crash happens you can reload a map (via the console) and the game will start again,coz the server is still running.
Obviously the guys paying for servers can’t do this because they don’t have access to the console.

We’ve just released a hotfix for the dedicated server to help out with this issue - we recommend applying it immediately.

It’s a fairly small update (less than 10mb) and should be compatible with clients who haven’t got the hotfix yet.

A couple of client side issues I’ve noticed since the hotfix also

  • Connect binds no longer work e.g. “bind f5 connect my.server.ip.address”
