Server disconnected for uknown reason !!!!! Please help!!!!!

Does anyone have any idea at all why this keeps happening? I’m getting it after every map now and its really doin me head in.

This is my specs: (old i know)

Pentium 3 500mghz
128mb ram
20 gig drive
ge force 2 64 meg

Connection is AOL broadband dsl : (crap ISP for game playing i know) My pings average at 190 but the game still runs well even when my pings hit average 250. I’ve done a ping and packets loss test and both were fine.

Although its not a top dollar machine, when i actually get to play a map the game runs really well, even with 30 players on the server!
Game load takes exactly 2 min 20 secs to limbo menu, Ive tried it with both punkbuster on and off but no change, All the in-game settings are set to the minimum level. I know there has been a lot of other posts about this and i’ve read em all but everything i’ve tried does not help.

If anyone has any ideas at what i can do next please let me know. :angry:

It happens with everyone once in a while but not every map thats a crazy situation.

Has anything changed, even down to new software being installed, that may have some effect on or make use of your internet connection ?

No nothing changed… When the ET test came out all was ok but now the full game is here i just get the same error after every map!! No new software, nothing… Its cracking me up !

All the Xp points i get on the first map i load lost, start from beggining every time . Bad news . Surely someone knows what this is?

It happens to me sometimes also, I don’t know why either.

if it happens after every map, that probably means that you’re getting disconnected because your machine takes too long to load the next map.

my machine is a 900mhz pentium, it shouldn’t take that long to load the maps.

Fat boost may have a point there, it might also might not just be down to cpu speed alone, hard drive speed and fragmentation may also be mitigating factors. I may also be completely wrong, c’mon where the likes of that cheap ho Reyalp when you need him to fill ya full of technical shite .

To the original poster… your computer is under requirements (and so is mine)

I guess you’ll have to get a better computer, or live with it :frowning:

I do the same, because my computer specs are:

P3 533mhz
128 ram
20 gig drive
ATI 32mb vid card

hmm, my only contribute to this post can be some advice…

Go play on Shrubs et server if ur worried about losing ur XP when u get disconnected, that server (is in my opinion) a great server wich keeps ur
XP, u can throw ammo/med packs further away, and the death/kill messages dont swallow up ur screen…

Dunno the exact name or IP, something like ShrubsETServer or something,

Else i would suggest buying a new motherboard, processor
( wich isnt that expensive these days)
