Server Crashes

I used 2 different cfg’s. In the .zip, Crash Dump 1,2,3 used the "server_objective_standard_vs.cfg.

The 4th Crash Dump used a custom cfg I found from this site.

Another Crash …
This time the server was hijacked and crashed on map sp/challenge_06 with 2 players.

Any thoughts Crispy?

Same error:
FATAL ERROR: AllocRenderModel called from a different thread for ‘modeldefs/weapons/assault_rifle_02/world’

I’ve gotten it for 2 other specific modeldefs as well. Would limiting the game to one exec_maxThreads fix this for now while still allowing the server to run decently?

After fixing my net_serverAllowHijacking 0 command so it wasnt net_allowServerHijacking 0, my 2 servers running on the same box didnt crash all night with a couple hours of population last night. I also run my servers on a dedicated box and had to setup the +set fs_userPath serverdirectory so each server had its own brinkdedconfig.cfg file.

Still crashes. Fixed serverAllowHijacking, removed alot of the redundant cvars found in that common config everyone is using and just made my own. Tried tons of variations, changed orders and worked at it next to forever. No luck.

Judging by the amount of servers online compared to yesterday I’d say this is a pretty large issue. 600 servers yesterday, less than 90 today last I checked.

Here is my config and command lines for anyone that wants a little cleaner and robust config. Mine includes a few extra bot cvars for those looking for a little more control over them, and doesnt require the applyServerConfig cvar as I included everything in my cfg.

Im sure a few ppl like myself didnt understand why i needed to have that set to Standard, or one of the others, when those settings conflict with settings in that other common config floating around, but when you set it to custom, you lose alot of the bot settings and some others, so I made this config. The other one is a good start, but isnt all that good of a config. Both mapcycles are enabled in it, the applyServerConfig isnt needed, and serverAllowHijacking is misspelled (although thats the fault of who made the pdf, but still wrong either way)

Thanks for the config. Seems to be a bit more tuned than the other one that everyone is using.

I added LogFile -

But I’m still having issues getting the reserved slot settings to work.

rcon serverinfo - shows 2 private slots.
Running cmd:
g_privatePassword theprivatepassword - through my game console and then trying to connect to my server just tells me it’s full. So I have no idea.

I also removed mp/refuel from the vote rotation since it causes players to lose their sound.

For the private slot to work you must connect using free play direct connect and enter the required info, I confirm this actually works.

For losing sound, the player needs to disconnect and reconnect in the console, sound comes back.

Everything was doing ok from the beginning with the same confg.
than today server stop 3 times for no reason .Very bad for my server name reputation .
Im thinking stopping the server until a get a fix .

Yeah… I don’t get it. We have a box that runs multiple servers. Everything from CSS to MNC and the one Brink server is currently down and will not restart. Everything was fine. It was running perfectly until sometime today and it just crapped out. I have reinstalled. I have stripped down my server.cfg. I have started and stopped. I have stood on my head. I have rubbed my belly and patted my head at the same time. I have even prayed and I am an atheist.

What a hunk of junk. I may just leave it down. Players are bailing on this game anyway.

My PvP only server was seeing a lot of traffic but the dedicated server was crashing 2-3 times a day (I had to remote monitor it from work) but in the last 2 days like 1 player will join now and then but thats it.

Guess my server now either has a bad reputation due to all the crashing or less people are actually playing now :frowning:

I suspect 2 things are happening.

  1. ded server providers like ourselves are starting to give up, so less and less servers online
  2. client side crashing/in game lag has finally taken it’s toll and players are giving up

Both not good for SD. Both not addressed yet. I think they have been concentrating on the cash cow console versions first unfortunately.

I have a friend who still cant even launch the game at all. Hasn’t played one second of the game. It simply will not run at all. Also with AMD vcard users experiencing severe fps lag in most cases, i think it’s hit a breaking point for a great portion of the pc players. Lack of any info other than to lecture us on our use of server configs has left us lost and feeling hopeless.

Been playing ET games since the beginning in RTCW thru QW. Always held SD in top regard. I’m sure maybe they are working their tails of, but lack of information on spawns assumptions, and most assumptions are bad assumptions.

Well Ive been using a minimal server configuration (but still custom) for about 4 days now and while my server load was pretty low for 2 of those days I have not had the usual allocrender model crash in that time.

However I have been having these daft:

problems, which I saw twice yesterday. Currently my Fiber connection is down so my server is not up at all and ive no way to login & check it from work.

When it was up my server had been averaging 8-12 plyers online most of the time (16 slots max) but in the last 4 days or so It never gets to 8 players. Using the ingame server browser Ive browsed around & found all the servers nearest to me based on Ping (Australia) practically empty during what should be peak play times.

ETQW had a massive following here & a lot of servers but Brink… dissapointing I really like the gameplay and want lots of people to play with/against.

PS: My server runs objective gameplay with no bots and no hijacking.

I cross my fingers since my last post ^^my server didnt stop and I didnt change a thing.
They only kind of bug i have now is ,the server get full at 15 players when the cfg is set to 16 players
before this wasnt happening .IDK why its like that now ??

Bumping this, hopefully someone from SD will read this. It’s quite an issue. I really wish they would have tested the game before releasing it.

Hi there!

Our server crash every 30 minutes this afternoon (mpuk, basic setup). It was stable before last night update, that’s pretty disappointing for a so awaited update :confused:

Since the update our gameservers are crashing more frequently.
Some after 12-14h, other after 30 minutes.
Always same disconnect message, but we are not able to find what the trigger is for this problem.
